Some vehicles may exhibit a harsh shift on acceleration below 20 mph during the 2-1 downshift on vehicles equipped with an A750 transmission. The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) calibration has been revised.

PT398-89140 Remote start 2015 4-Runner Limited

If anyone can get their hands on the PT398-89140 installation instructions, I would like to get my hands on it.
My interpretation, of your above statement is that this new unit is all contained in one "box" rather than having to go into the dash in multiple locations as with the earlier versions? I would definitely be interested in his new unit, if this is the case. (Edit to add: after looking at the 2010 instructions, it looks like the Non Smart Key installation was the complicated one.)

I just bought this part and I am also looking for any pdf or install directions for it if you find them. It looks pretty straight forward but I will still have to get the dealer to make it work with my remote I assume. Oh and FYI
(I do have the push button start)

Has anyone found a good tutorial for 5th gen prop shaft greasing and torque specs?

This is all I've found. Unfortunately, the pics are no longer working.

Edit: See post 13, OP re-added pics. Still not feeling totally confident I can do this based on that thread. Once I figure it out I'll take pics and make a tutorial.

Don't mean this to sound rude at all. But honestly, getting on your back and looking is probably better than any tutorial. Park the truck where the slip yoke zerk fitting is pointing down on the rear driveshaft and you'll be able to access all the rear driveshaft zerks. The front driveshaft can be rotated by hand as long as not in 4wd to get easy access to those zerks. You don't have to remove anything, jack it up or anything else. Just need a grease gun with a flexible hose. See link in my signature for more info.

This is the best advice on the topic. This maintenance item seems particularly hard to explain in writing, but is really simple. Look at the pictures in the thread, find that part underneath your 4Runner, then pump it with grease.

Thanks for the specification. As a scientist with zero mechanical experience, just starting to do my own maintenance, it's nice to have a straightforward protocol before beginning.

Here is my spreadsheet for maintanence schedule of my rig: it is easier for me to keep it this way - not to forget and keeping everything in one place, including the part numbers and links to the procedure (usually a text on this great site) as well as the corresponding youtube video (which was sufficient for me).

I follow the 1st column (very conservative) since I'm both towing (4000 lbs boat) and off-roading. The second column is subjective average (of what I've seen in forums), what is recommended by most of you (collective intelligence). The 3rd column is either Toyota official recommendation or a mechanic recommendation (which I got) or an optimistic recommendations (more for highway travel).

I will be glad if it will be helpful to somebody as well.
