I have a wiring question...

I tapped into the DRL Green wire for positive and grounded the negitive to the chassis.

My question is, if my light switch is set to AUTO shouldn't the amber marker lights work and stay on? OR, do i have to set my light switch to DRL for them to stay on all the time while driving?

It seems when i use AUTO the amber markers come on then go off after a certain amount of time, but if i use the DRL setting on the light switch it stays on and never turns off until i shut the truck off.

Thoughts?

With the switch set to parking light mode, the DRL and marker (aka parking) lights will stay on, whether in daylight or darkness.

Just got these in the mail from F150leds.com. I'm planning to mount them under the horizontal 'bar' below the Toyota emblem on my SR5. I overpaid but it came pre-wired and they are really slim compared to other options. They are only 1.75" x 0.5" x 0.25" with 3 diodes. The 2 diodes on the sides are angled outwards for better visiblity. I only wish they were black but oh well! They are going to be barely noticeable regardless.

got my install done yesterday, combined [MENTION=57196]needsmoresalt[/MENTION] install using RCO's add a fuse method he posted earlier in this thread and parts of [MENTION=62757]chudiddy[/MENTION] install by shaving the light down around the ends, covering the excess with shrink wrap and installing from behind the grill through the slots.

note: using the RCO add-a-fuse method the lights are on when the key is in "ON" mode (not "ACC"), when the vehicle is started / remote-started, and when the parking brake is set (similar to the parking lights when p-brake is set - if parking/headlights are on).
they are independent of the light system all together, so even when the stalk is rotated to "OFF" they are still on. (this may matter to some who like to go full blackout-stalker mode when in that setting)

pics: 1st - DRL, 2nd - Low Beams, 3rd - remote-start w/ headlights on

This is a great mod. I followed the RCO add-a-fuse method since I love having the amber LEDs on all the time. The amber DRLs were one of my favorite things about my old 2013 SR5. Got lazy and went with zip ties to secure the lights in front of the grill instead of shaving down the plastic to mount from behind like codyHTX and elusive01. I did not use t-taps at all, only butt splices throughout. Do yourself a favor and buy waterproof butt splices with heat shrink ends, then cover the whole thing with e-tape, then cover all the wires with USA-made heat-rated flex loom or flex tubing.
