5th Gen Marker Lights in Grill

So I don't want the amber markers to be on when the low beams are also on. In that case, I need to tap into the DRLs, yes? That way the markers are on when the DRLs are on (I actually use the DRLs in daytime). But I suppose they would also come on when I use high beams, too, which is a bit weird. I'm a 2016 non-premium TE so I don't have auto lights.
This also would allow me to go completely dark, unlike tapping into ignition fuse.
The reason I'm thinking this way is because I have replaced my halogen low beams with HID. Running the amber markers with the HID lows seems a bit much--like a big FU to other drivers. (Yes, I know about adjusting HIDs down a bit to reduce impact to other drivers.)
Any thoughts on this?

I put in amber LEDs with the clear cover, gives a more stealth look when they are off, grand junction part number on amazon:

It all comes down to your personal opinion on the looks. I am no electrical authority on this topic, but you are correct that if you tap into your DRL/high beam wire, your markers would likely come on with the operation of both. Most ppl who want to black out tap into the parking lights since the complement of those ambers with the amber markers looks good, but then you have the issue of the markers being on with your low beams. With regard to the HIDs, the amber marker lights that myself, [MENTION=127657]codyHTX[/MENTION], [MENTION=136976]elusive01[/MENTION] and many others use are not crazy bright at night. You don't need to worry about blinding other drivers with all those lights. I run HID low beams with the amber markers on with ignition, and have only received compliments about the look.

Has anyone wired markers to a switch?
I did this mod a while back but was wondering if anyone has wired theirs to a rocker switch?
Any advise on how I would wire this to a rocker switch but still have the lights turn off when the ignition turns off? I don't want to have to turn them off manually everytime I turn off the car (incase I accidently leave them on).
I have mine tapped directly off the sider marker lights, but maybe doing the RCO method and throwing a switch in the loop could work?

What size washer did you use?? Looks nice and clean
I used these cheap amber LED "eagle eye" bolts from ebay, about $3 each when purchased in bulk. They have clear lenses with an orange shine.
When turned off, they reflected the sun and looked like shiny white spots during the day. They were also ridiculously bright at night when turned on, totally outshining the factory marker lamps.
To tone it down, I spray painted several layers of matte black Plasti Dip over the lenses, using a tiny strip of blue painters tape to partially mask off the middle...
The result is somewhat of a dark "stealth" look, but plenty bright when turned on.

Sounds like a good idea, I think I'll go that route to. I have the "eagle eye bolt lights" as well and they are pretty bright.

I think the OD of the washers was 1", and the ID was whatever the bolt is... probably 1/4", if I remember correctly. (I just took the bolt with me to Home Depot to match the washer.)
On a side note, the Plastidip on the washers is beginning to fray on the edges from high pressure car washes, so I may redo them with specialty black anodized aluminum washers.

By shaving the ends of the lights, were you able to install the behind the grill, instead of in front of the grill as in the RCO version? If so, how did you secure the light behind the grill?

Finally joined the marker in grill club
I installed some $9 lights from amazon. These are TMH 3/4" smoked amber lights. They are rated for 60 lumens, I don't think they are that bright, maybe 20 lumens. It's on whenever the engine is started. May add a switch later.
The lights come with a rubber grommet. It's actually fits in between the grill without any modifications. I just wedged it in there and it's pretty tight fit. Also there is markings on the light that tells which is top..
The last picture is with all the lights on except the fogs. I have to do the independents fog light mod soon.

Have not had any problems with overheating. There is a lot of airflow between the lights. It looks like it takes up the whole air vent. I driven it to vegas and summer driving in town. Even in 100+ weather city driving.
My daughter said the front end looks like Lil Wayne's mouth with all the bling.
