5th gen skid plates on a 4th gen

If you can even find a skid plate at a junkyard. All the junked 4runners I’ve found are completely gutted in the engine compartment. If the skid plates are even kept, good luck finding it.

Ok! sorry for the delay had other obligations that took priority but sorry to keep you guys waiting.
So, after taking those measurements the next thing to do was to then take the measurements for the sides that needed to be cut. After assessing those measurements, I then attempted to see how it would fit and found that the strength of the plate would not be the same as some of the aftermarket plates that are available i.e. RCI.
So yes 1 point to those that told me so but don't know unless you try. So it is doable but with the cutting and also having to get a bracket for the most rear part of the plate, it ends up to be more trouble then it is worth to go further.
I hope that this puts questions of this fitting to rest and if someone does decide to completely follow through then kudos for taking one for the 4R team!

I had someone local to me say they had a set of 5th gen plates on their 4th gen... I'll just take my girl's 5th gen plates and give it a try the next time I do her oil change. I'm so lazy I still haven't put mine back on. Also my plates are rusted so it's time to find another set at some point anyway.
