Check out this thread...as I said you should be fine as long as you don't use a 9" wheel (you said yours is 8") or wheel spacers.

I’m terrified of having to do a BMC and becuase of that I’m waffeling between 275’s & 285’s. My prob is I really like the Nitto Terra Grappler G2s P-metric. They aren’t available in 276. I ran the online calculator using the numbers provided by FN wheels for the 17x8 six shooter & 285’s. Where as the OEM 201’’ SR5 has 30mm offset the six shooter has 0?

It said - Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 17.3mm further away from the suspension strut.The outer rim will poke out 42.7mm more than before.

What do you think my chances are of needing BMC (like I said, I;m terrified of that)? If I may need it, would I be safe w/ 275s?If so, I’ll need to fins a 275 comparable to terra grappler G2 in P-metric.

By the way, I'm fine w/ trimming mud flaps & wheel well liners. I have a body shop that will help w/ that. In my mind it's too new, I'm still laying on it & im concerned about safety. If I need to resell it for some reason, that will hurt my value.

I spoke w/ Dustin @ LH Wheels. He said he did this exact install numerous times (i.e. 2 1/2 front 2 rear, u a's) in a 211 SR5. He said "I gaurentee that set up whill need plastic trimming & no body mount chop.

Vision 375 Warrior

I bought a set of 18" Vision 375 Warrior gloss black machine face for my last vehicle. Was happy with rims, but they were hard to keep clean. For the price, i couldn't complain. Either low end or high end, not much more than a price difference. Nice rims with 3 layers of old school chrome is great for no salt area's.

Is anyone running an STT Pro in 265/70/17 they could post a pic of?
I really want that tire in 275, but it doesn't look like they are offered. I'd go 285, but I am worried I'd have to cut up a bunch of sh-t to keep them from rubbing.... so, 265 is really my only option.

Does anyone happen to have any pics of 2014 or newer BLACK Trail Ed with either gunmetal, machined aluminum, or poss even bronze FN wheels? I'm finally pulling the trigger on a set of Six Shooters (ditching the Spidertrax), but for the life of me, cannot make up my f----n mind on color. Machined Aluminum will look fairly close to stock Trail rim color... bronze is intriguing, but adding another color to the mix may not pan out well. And then there's gunmetal... Which of course will look totally fine/good... But then it's going to make me open up a whole other can of worms to get rid of the remaining chrome, etc... I reeeeaaalllly don't want to go down that path if can help it. So if I could see the gunmetal on a black trail Ed and see how it looks... Well, who knows. All the pics I have been able to find for gunmetal are always SR5s and don't have the trim pieces/colors that a 2014 trail has.

Stupid topic... Just trying to avoid bad judgement on my part.

The rig looks great jimster716. I'm looking hard at the STT Pros in 285/70/17. Wondering what your experience has been with them *on-road* with wet pavement. I see the siping in the alternating tread blocks, but interested in real-world usage. Also interested in hearing how stock gears do hauling these around and why you're thinking future body mount chop - rubbing/cutting into tires? Thanks!

Your rig does look great. Too bad you need to do a body mont chop even though you moded the fender liner.
Did you move the caster all the way forward?
What do you attribue the rubbing to? Might it be the combination of the super aggressive tires and the - 12 offset?
I wonder what the diameter is of those tires? I’ll be they’re a little over 33” while many 285’s seem to be just short of 285.
I’m going up to 285’s but trying to aviod the body mount chop at all costs. It scares the heck out of me.

If it matters to you, I think the offset on 5th gen stock 17x 7 wheels is 15mm (some have taken actual measurement of around 12mm). 4th gens wheels were more like 30mm.

The tires are 33.05". The offset plus the 9" width contribute to the rubbing. I'm debating on just not getting the chop and deal with the rub. It only runs in reverse with the wheel turned.

I personally didn't weigh mine, but for reading on here the Trail rims are 32 pounds and the tire was 40 pounds for a combined weight of 72 pounds.

i seen some numbers like that too. i got my tire weight from tirerack and it came in at 38 lbs. i guess that'll have to do unless someone has an oe setup sitting around they can throw on the scale.
