7pin reverse power ability?

Does anyone know the working amperage output for the 7pin trailer connection? Specifically the reverse circuit. Until better weather arrives I'm looking to wire up two led reverse lights using the trailer connection. The lights have a 1.0 amp draw each.

ONE amp? You sure about that? Seems a lot for led - I thought leds were milliamps. Regardless, I can't imagine any "normal" backup lights you'd install drawing more than trailer lights.

I'm looking to use the factory 7pin trailer connection for power. There are two bolts below the bumper in a perfect location. The two lights have 1amp draw each. I'm using the same lights on my Dodge truck and Offroad Jeep. Those vehicles have full relay setup. I'll eventually do something similar on the 4runner. Using the 7pin connection would make initial setup easy.

Here's the wiring diagram. Looks like you have 40 amps at the tail-light terminal and 30 at the battery charge terminal, if I read the diagram and fusing correctly. Anyway, should be plenty for your lights.

Also, from another page it looks like the backup light circuit is fused at 15 amps, but that includes the existing backup lights as well.

I like the Kawell lights. They work great. Cheap enough to be disposable. My truck has 8 lights. My Jeep has 12. Originally had halogen lights on the Jeep at 4amp per light. The LEDs have more light at 1amp each.

The trailer reverse light circuit is 10A Fuse located at drivers kick panel.
