87 With Terrible Body lift!

Well if you rip that bumper off or get rid of the body lift and all let me know if you dont want it! Ive got a warn tran4mer I want to mod and beef up.

looked better with the old wheels and tires.
what did you do with the old factory wheels?
Did you weld that winch plate to the frame? Those 4 bolts won't hold to a full winch pull.
I'd take that body lift off...any rust and other issues that arise will need to be fixed, and will increase the value of the truck.
all of the factory rear bumper pieces and mounts and trim are often needed by other members here. They are worth something.

I'd definitely take the body lift off the truck. Its really not that hard, I did it on my truck awhile back. As far as the winch plate goes, ive done a vehicle recovery and uprighted a flipped vehicle with those 6 bolts holding the winch on. They did get stripped out though and Id suggest putting an additional brace.

You have removed a 3" lift, because from what I'm reading I'm going to have to change get steering put brake lines back where they are supposed to go along with find a stock gas tank filler. Then get all new body non lift bushings and bolts. I feel like it is more involved than it is worth. Considering I'm not restoring this 4 runner I'm just gonna trail it.

I did it in a day by myself using some sockets and a highlift, and that included hacking the sliders off the truck. The brake lines weren't an issue, I just bent them out of the way making sure it doesnt hit the steering shaft. Gas tank filler was also never an issue. I don't know what you mean by replace the steering:noidea:. I just loosened the set screw in my steering shaft, removed the bodylift, then re-tightened the setscrew when I was done. You probably have radiator drop brackets also if it was done correctly. But thats easy to remove aswell. All in all I am much happier with the way my truck looks. Theres some pictures in my build thread when it had the bodylift and when I pulled it into the garage to remove it.

Since that's just replacing your existing rubber bushings with poly ones, you should be able to use the same hardware.
As for how many, well it's a 20 pc kit with a top and bottom piece for each mount, so 20 divided by 2 equals ??

Well mine has the 3" body lift bolts in it that are going to be way to long. I i take them out. I have been trying to find a 1" Body lift kit to swap out for but every one makes 2" And 3" unless there is a company i missed.

I don't recall the size I bought. I just remember taking one of my bolts off and measuring it. We have a fastenal right down the street from my work place, so I called them up and got grade 8 hardware there.
