'93 4Runner White Smoke coming from exhaust.

Hey everyone,

New to the forum.

Just bought a '93 4Runner V6 SR5 with 200k miles from a private seller. The car test drove well and ran perfectly for the first couple of days.

I took it to the beach on a fairly warm day and as I was leaving noticed a large leak under the car.

Car wouldn't start right away but after some haggling I got it started.

Drove away and 2 minutes later it started blowing out tons of white smoke from the exhaust.

Stopped at the nearest gas station and bought some more coolant thinking it was out/overheating. Coolant didn't help and again starting it was a problem.

Decided to have it towed back home where it currently sits. It starts up fine and I haven't noticed another massive leak, but it's still blowing out the white smoke. I tried getting a mobile mechanic to come check it out but the first guy I found didn't show up. I'm now trying to find another reliable mobile mechanic. Anybody have an idea of what might be going on? My fear is a head gasket or crack in the engine block that is causing oil or coolant to leak and burn.

Update:

Used Blue Devil Head Gasket Sealer, to great affect. Within 15 minutes of letting the car idle with Blue Devil in the system the white smoke stopped. I've since flushed the coolant system, added new coolant, and haven't had any issues since. This solution is definitely just putting a band aid on the larger problem with the head gasket, but we'll see how long this car lasts with this solution.
