did you use existing wiring for the switches/controls? are the connectors already in the harness behind the dash? one of my parts trucks has a tan console with rear heat.[/QUOTEI]
I had to lengthen the wire that goes to the parking brake assembly and I had to lengthen the 3 wires that go to the rear heat fan switch. The rest of the switches had wiring long enough to move to the space to the left of the steering wheel. I'm not what you mean by "are the connectors already in the harness behind the dash"?
If you are thinking of getting the console with heat for your truck keep in mind that there is much more to the heat than just what's in the console. Here is a picture I found. There are actually coolant lines running to this unit.

When you take off your console you can unplug the switches and remove the switches. All the wires will be bundled up running under the radio area. You will need to cut off the zip tie holders to allow you to run the wires to the dash. Remove the lower dash and allow it to hang down while you run the wires to the new switch locations. Pop out the blank switches on dash and place the switches from your stock console in place. From behind plug in the switches from the wires you just ran over there. Put everything back in place.

Just a helpful hint, place the window switch upside down, otherwise the controls are backwards (press up, goes down deal)

I left the back window switch so that "Back Window" is right side up but the controls are, in fact, backwards. I would rather have to deal with the controls be backwards than "Back Window" being upside down.

Honestly I did the same but I still manage to make it go the wrong direction every time lol
you can at least use Mr. Clean to remove the factory DOWN and UP lettering, and then possibly add your own labels to correctly denote the direction of rear window movement which actually corresponds to the switch

Yeah that's my next little project when I get time. I have actually been looking at a post where they changed the wires around in the switch so pushing up on the button raises the window and pushing down on it lowers it. Then he used a magic eraser to remove the Up and Down labels.
I rewired my own switch following those same DIY instructions and removed the factory markings, although I just haven't yet relabeled my switch
