Completed my hid projector retrofit on my 96 this weekend, looks great.

DDM D2S-V1 Projector w/ DDM 35W D2S, 6K HID
H4 High / Low Harness, Flat Male Connector
Switchback Panamera V1 Shrouds, Pair

Halos wired to side markers/ turn signals, my problem is when i start the truck my projectors come on without turning on my headlights.
What i want is the halos on as drl and projectors when i turn them on, not constant. I searched for an answer but couldnt find anything anyone have any insight, did i wire something wrong?

Sounds like your DRL module is triggering the projectors (ballasts) to fire when you start the truck which is very damaging to the ballasts. You need to delete the DRL module or figure out how to wire your halos into that circuit instead of the ballasts.

Whatever you do, unplug that DRL module while you're figuring out your next step as to avoid cooking the ballasts.

96-98 don’t have the DRL. He just didn’t wire it properly.

Yes it is wired correctly, my 96 is canadian doesnt have the drl module by the battery, its inside under steering column. A little more digging and i cut the black/yellow wire and bingo, thanks for steering me in the right direction guys!

OP is located in Canada where DRLs are mandatory, so if this is truly a Canadian market vehicle it does have DRLs. I found this DRL's on 1997 4runner - YotaTech Forums

What he ^ said! Thanks Ed.
