I just clocked 3000km (1800miles) in the past 2 weeks driving through the mountains. I definitely notice the sway bars gone. Evasive emergency maneuvers may be difficult which is why I need a new bumper! The added flex offroad is unreal and driving without the sway bars just means you need to slow down and change your driving style. It rolls more in the corners but I am used to it already. Just dont drive like you stole it!

Dood... lol go up into the mountains. I know NM has them, I lived in Santa for two years.
All kidding aside though I know what you mean, I was watching the video thinking the same thing. I always wish Texas was less populated. In New mexico you can just drive out of town in any direction and find somewhere to wheel. I loved being able to go up into the mountains above Taos with some friends, and feel like i couldn't be farther away from civilization...

Lovin' the Duster by the way rickashay, and I have spent so much time watching all these ct4wd videos. They're making me so jealous lol! Keep em coming!

Canon Rebel XSi. Most of the photos in this thread are shot with my 24-105L f/4.0 IS lens.... When I stop modding my truck I'm gunna save for a full frame like the New 5D Mk III.
 
I love you're Runner, it looks amazing, and it makes me miss mine more and more. I'm saving up so when I'm finally reunited I'll have to money to do the mods I should be doing now. And I agree with the guys watching that video makes me want to be up there with all that beautiful country to go wheelin in. Great build bro!

My mini-mod for the day: LC80 center caps. Spray bombed black, Hand painted red Toyota logos, 2 coats of clear coat!

This is the first time I've been through your entire build and I've got to say, GOOD WORK MAN. There is definitely some clever problem solving and some great ideas in the pages of this thread. I'm glad I finally took the time to read it.

Great truck man. You've really done alot to improve it's capabilities. :bigok:

That Center Cap looks awesome. It must have been time consuming to paint only the red portion. I have newly powder-coated Toyota wheels and I had planned on doing the same thing this weekend. This is the first picture of it I have seen. VERY NICE :)

Appreciate the comments BigFish! Your truck has honestly been a huge inspiration for my build. Im just glad I can share my ideas for others as they have shared them for me!

lmao, time consuming is an understatement. I dont even want to tell you how long they took me to do. My Toyota friends are still mocking me for spending so much time on them. They think my truck is a princess!! hahah

I've got another big mod coming fairly soon, as I am maybe swapping out the suspension (already....) and getting a custom tube bumper made when I finish the design. Stay tuned!
 
A couple minor updates for August. It seems I have been working WAY too much and not wheeling enough.... funny how that works! I was able to sneak away from town for a weekend with my girlfriend and my dog. Perfect. A couple photos of our travels:
