Your front tires shouldn't rub with that tire size. A good alignment (high enough caster) will clear the firewall/pinch weld area. Also, a lift won't just magically get the tires to clear - they travel the same path, whatever the height of the truck is... (they might rub less often on the street, but they will rub just the same when flexing off road unless the alignment is right)Anyone have experience with this spring setup but on regular replacement shocks instead of the bilsteins? Looking for a slight lift that's even F/R so my tires up front no longer rub.
Thanks again!
What 'normal' shocks are you talking about? The 5100's aren't much more expensive than most of the 'normal' options that are worth putting on the truck (4600's, KYBs) and probably less expensive than OEM. Avoid cheap shocks like the plague... (Monroe, etc.)
The front '99 talls will be fine with any shock choice (they are OEM, after all!). The rear 906's are stiffer than OEM, but are progressively wound - so they will probably work ok with most shocks. They technically will void shock warranties that don't cover lifted trucks, but that might be the only downside.
