Here is my useless advice Alex.
I've run BFG AT on all my truck's since like forever , I've had many sets and since my uncle was the VP at Goodrich I always got them cheap . They are a excellent all terrain. If you like white letters out they have the best looking one's and there is no mistaking a BFG AT buy seeing a truck on the road. ALTHOUGH.... They rode great when I got them , I never had a problem in rain or snow , mud was marginal at best depending the type of mud and other factors , but one tough fricken AT tire. I did however notice a decrease in ride quality in them as the tires wore in . They seemed to get harsher & harsher as they wore. It was not because they were aging since I drive 25+k per year so after 2 years , I always need now tires anyway. Most of my BFG's we on big full size heavy trucks , but where I really noticed the ride getting bad was on an SUV Explorer ( pretty much same size and weight as Explorer 1999 ) by the time I hit 40k with them they would knock my fillings loose when driving on rough roads , it was like concrete tires.
REVOS::::: I did not like these tires at first at all , they are a great road tire , excellent wet traction ride , decent but mild all terrain. Snow is like driving in mud to me , it really depends on the moisture content and the snow , if it's hard packed I think they kinda suck , fluffy snow they do good , deep snow fluffy they do good , wet snow heavy water content they do ok. One thing I've noticed with them is a consistent ride as the tires wore down , a little harsher , but not like the BFG AT.
I'm interested in the Goodyear Silent Armor AT. I've not been around them or looked very close at them at the tire shop. They had some there , but I kind of would have wanted to see them in my size to get a true picture of the tread.
Not sure what I'll get next , but just wanted to share my thoughts on the 2 I have experience with BFG & Revo.
My truck is also my daily driver so a nice ride is important , BUT I drive off road as much as I can in fields ect... farm trails , and places I should not even be driving legally ....lol , so I need a good combo. The Revo has been a good all around tire although I wish it has deeper tread like 16/32 instead of 13/32 ( for "P") rated and the only other choice is to go to "E" rated which ( for my preference ) is way to much tire for the 4R . Because of the ride quality in the "P" rated with them I would like to try a "C" rated but they don't make them. GY SA on the other hand with the kevlar and new compound is supposed to be as tough as a C+ for a "P" rated tire.
