Sweet deal on the tires man! What ever happened to getting your lift?? Decide against it??

I am happy with the price I paid! Having some trouble getting them to balance properly- shaking the steering wheel over ~60... Luckily les Schwab does it for free...

As for the lift, I have the rear springs, I just cannot convince my wife. I have never needed a lift off road, so cannot really justify it.

Perhaps next summer when I get back from Afghanistan.

My antenna has been broken off for who knows how long(previous owner foil taped it and it was hanging there at the dealership). I don't think I'll get an antenna, just another thing to break. Just in case I did decide to replace it, is there any modifications necessary? I heard I need to remove the whole fender to get out the power retracting unit disconnected from the old antenna, is that true?

Thanks, and great looking rig!
PS, how do you keep your roof so clean? Mine's matte white now :nono:

Hey, just curious where you went to locally for a dyno? Was it simply a dyno, or did they help tune the 7th?
I sent you a more in-depth PM. Anyone else curious, Carb Conn in Kirkland. They can tune the 7th.

Hedgehog, my Afghani internet isn't letting me quote you but in regards to your questions---

Modification necessary?
None other than replacing the current goods.

Do you have to remove the fender?
No. I started to an was not digging that idea. Instead I just removed the fender liner from inside the wheel well.

How to keep the roof clean?
Simple! Live in the PNW! I don't think my 4Runner has ever seen the sun. That and I wax the whole vehicle at least a dozen times a year, I'd guess... Kinda anal about that sort of thing. My neighbors complain that it makes their wives think they're neglecting their vehicles. I tell them to have their wives come over, I'll give them a lesson.

Also, unless I need them, I don't use the cross bars that sit flush against the paint. The first time I removed them I noticed they were all sandy and scratching the paint of pretty bad...

That's how mine are, I figure I may as well just leave them on at this point to cover it up, I didn't like the look of black pin stripes on my roof. But the old saying may be true: "****'ll buff out", we'll have to see. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it!

hey man great build. thanks for the post on my TRD exhaust for sale. i wish i didnt have to sell it but my buddy Clownmeat that is on here keeps showing me up with his rear mounted turbo runner that we built so i figured its time to do mine. :) but great build man, very clean runner.

And thank you!

Hopefully I didn't deter anyone with the comment on the exhaust fumes, it's really not that bad, but definitely noticable. And the reason for selling, well, I don't think anyone will argue that haha.

As for my 4Runner, and my next steps. I am currently in Afghanistan, and putting aside some change every so often to purchase a lift when I get back.

So far my sights are set on the ToyTec ultimate with the red coils, diff drop, 890 springs for the rear (from CodyX36 thanks buddy =p) and the Bilstein 5125's. Hopefully me putting this on here for everyone to see will help me not chicken out over the price when the time comes!

I really hope ToyTec will be able to take the 890's out of the price, since I already have a set. Judging by the phenominal service I have seen from them in the past, I doubt it will be an issue.

Excellent. Looking forward to your return.

As am I!

A couple of my investments for 2012 went through the roof this past week... Maybe I can talk my wife into tires as well =p

Looking at a down payment on a new living space in the near future, so she may not be too keen on that...

ToyTec Boss Kit - Ordered

Thank you again, Cody (CodyX36) for the rear springs.

So for my lift I will be running--
ToyTec Boss Coilovers with 550 lb springs
Diff Drop
OME 890's w/ Bilstein 5100's
ToyTec Panhard Drop (Ordering now, forgot it before)

Congrats on the lift order! That should be a nice suspension setup, with a great ride. I look forward to seeing some pictures of your rig once it's all installed.

Thanks!

Now I need to start ordering maintenance items- LBJ's and such.

Getting real jealous of all the headlight retrofitting going on these days... I may have to look in to that as well... Try to hop on one of those group buys on Tacomaworld...

That makes two of us. I've been eyeballing those group buys every time they come up, not to mention the FS threads in the classifieds. I'd love to have a set of Rickashay's, but $800!!!! That's almost enough for a re-gear.

Your rig is going to look killer with that lift though. You really should post more pictures of that thing, it's a stunner.

Not any update, but took the bikes out yesterday.
