Ha I came across something a little more serious this weekend. On my way down the mountain into Cle Elum on a forest road, came around the corner to see a Sheriff parked off to the side of the road with a few people standing around. Went around and glanced over the drop off to the left and someone had driven their Ford Escape down the hill about 30ft down into some trees. Airbags deployed.

Wonder if everyone escaped without injury... :flypig:

Bumper Progress

Well, last week I received my CBI bumpers. Unfortunately, I did not pay to have them powercoated (lesson learned) and have been painting non-stop all week.

Anyway, front bumper is about done, and should be installed tomorrow.

So here are a couple teasers of the 4Runner ready to accept the new goodies.

CBI Hybrid Front Bumper

Well I finally got around to getting this CBI OffRoad Fab bumper installed. I cannot wait to get the rear painted and installed with the sliders. (having it done professionally... I will never spray paint anything this large again.)

First impression: This thing looks awesome.

Second impression: The top bolt on the front of the frame rails doesn't line up on either side... It's a good 1/4" off. Kinda stupid, but whatever. Looking at the photos on their site, it doesn't appear that 4Runner has that bolt installed either.

Third impression: This thing looks awesome.

Fourth impression: They should really make a "non-flare" style for the front... Looks kinda goofy sticking out 2" on both sides.

All in all, I am very happy with the purchase. I cannot wait to put it to some use...

Anyway, here are some pictures. The winch is just in there... I cannot figure out where I will be mounting my control box as of yet... Also ordered some IPF lights from TheeMikeB . Those will be filling those big blank spots.

Looks really good!! And for the 2" flare on the front, positive note on that, you can use it as a slider when your close to trees, rocks, etc, and it will at least keep them 2" from the fender on approaches. Your 4runner and the bumper look really good though!!

Yeah, I thought the same thing, just looks different than I expected.

Thanks man!

Looks amazing! And yeah, I think the big thing that helps when you get the parts professionally done is they'll give it a good bake too.

Thanks!

I am tempted to ask about getting thr front re-done by them, but I feel as if I may be pressing my luck. It started as getting just the rear, and one slider done. Now already asking them to do the other slider too. =)

An you came down here and didn't say hi... I don't think we can be friends anymore lol jk.

Haha, if you lived on the coast I could have said hi... Portland is quite the detour from Seaside.

What color did you use? Graphite Duplicolor wheel paint?

CBI Hybrid Rear and IPF 968's Installed

So over the past couple of days I have installed my rear CBI Hybrid Bumper and the IPF 968s into the CBI Hybrid front bumper.

There's a bit of a rake (I think it looks kinda cool...) because I do not have my spare tire under there right now.

Pictures.

Looks great! Could you post or PM me a couple shots of the area exposed when the rear hatch is open?

Truck looks great and those lights fit in there perfectly. I take it now that I see them installed that you received the package.

TheeMikeB I did. Sorry for not letting you know. I got too excited, threw them on, and forgot to message you :-(

Thanks Logan!
Hepar I'll text you one
