It's all good, I figured I'd hear from you if there was a problem... no news is good news right?
How did you end up wiring them? Were you able to use the factory connections or did you just use the IPF harness?

I used the factory connections.
I cut the pigtails off of my factory fogs and connected them to the lights. When I turn them on the first time, my fog fuse blew. I checked it and found that I had a 10amp fuse in there. Replaced it with the correct fuse (15 amp) and I was golden.

Tried to put my 265 75 16 spare tire back up where it goes today.
Yeah, it's not fitting. Not even a little bit.

Interesting. I don't want the swing out. I LOVE the looks of it, but I go in and out of my rear so much, that I don't want the added hassle. The way the Hilux rear works though is pretty efficient. I might go that route.

That was my thought as well, but I figured that since I had never seen a review or comment about the spare tire, that mine would still work.
I guess I'll just clean it up and throw it in the back.

Hey Guys. I wanted to chime in and give some info regarding the bumper and the spare tire fitment!
First off let me say thanks for buying a CBI bumper. Regarding the spare tire fitment for the hybrid bumper you are right in saying that the spare tire will not fit. Honestly even with airing it down i doubt it will fit either.
The reason the spare does not fit with the hybrid bumper is that the bumper has such a tight clearance for departure angle that it does not leave room for the spare. That is the trade off for this high clearance bumper. Having said that we need to put that info on our website so that you as customers are aware.
If you are looking for a rear bumper that will fit the spare then the plate rear bumper for the 3rd gen 4runner does fit. It will also fit slightly oversized tires as well in most cases but it just depends on the tire and the size as they all vary slightly.
I'm sure this doesn't solve the issue of where to put your spare but I wanted to explain the two bumpers and the spare tire fitment for each. If you are interested in a receiver mounted spare tire holder (that is what I use on my 3rd gen) then contact me and I would be happy to give you a discount on one. You're correct in saying that even aired down it won't fit. I took it down to ~10psi and it's still not even close.
I HIGHLY recommend adding that little tidbit about it not fitting to your site... I wouldn't have purchased the bumper without a swingout if I had known the spare wouldn't fit.
I remember when I bought it that you said the swingout could be installed later on down the road, so I guess I will just start saving my pennies and sucking up to my wife.

Camping and stuff.
Well I went camping with my wife, my dog, [MENTION=82154]GSPRunner[/MENTION] , his girlfriend, and dogs. Pretty good time, I think.
The first night (Friday) my wife and I cruised up to the area we would be camping (Lion's Rock) but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we didn't get up there until well after dark. So, driving on miles and miles of winding gravel roads we decided we would just camp ON Lion's Rock in order to avoid getting lost.
Poor choice, Alex. Poor choice.
Through the night it was colder than I thought (judging by the ice on the ground when we woke up) but we survived.
Anyway, the next day Joe and I met up, ran a pretty neat trail, and headed back to camp to sit by the fire and do camping things (drink).

Just got off the phone w/ Nathan [MENTION=64712]CBI OffRoad Fab[/MENTION] and got my order in for the swingout tire carrier.
Now with the spare tire about to be removed from the cargo area, it's time to start designing/building my rear cargo box/sleeping platform. I have already taken my initial measurements, so I just need to sketch some stuff up in AutoCad and start pretending like I am a carpenter.

Some quick sketches... Appears to be possible with just 2 pieces of plywood.. We'll see how well that works out with my lack of cutting skill.
I would like to use a 1/2" material... So I need to do some research on what's strong.

We'll be doing all of it. There is a group on TacomaWorld that we'll be meeting up with on August 15th near Packwood, I believe. They're just doing the weekend thing.
