DZ, I never been there and never heard anyone talking about it, that's why i created the thread to see if anyone frequents it. The local guys who opted to do a pre-run on the trails are doing all of us a favor by checking it before we decide to make a weekend out of it. Thanks again guys!! :thumb:

We are capping this trip at 4 rigs so that we can have the ability to scout the trails and build a "course" for a larger outing later in Spring.

Awesome time yesterday. Blaise & Steve (and his wife and daughter) were great people to wheel with and hopefully we can all get out on the trail again together soon.

AOAA is as great a place to wheel a truck as it is a quad. We didn't do anything overly difficult but still had a blast. Can't wait to get back out there.

I'd go April 8th, but ill be with [MENTION=137555]Sleeter[/MENTION] and crew down at George Washington National Forest during this time. Would love to go for a weekend @ AAOA, and camp, etc.

Not even close, we covered only a fraction of the eastern reserve. Steve (Nottoday) & Blaise (blaise_f) did some of the western reserve while I was still on my way out there (arrived around noon due to the flat), but it sounds like they didn't get to do a ton of that area either.

I've done probably 99% of the park on my quad, but hadn't been there since the fall. They've since opened up a bunch of new sections and trails, so there's even more than there used to be. I don't think you can hit every trail in a single day in a truck...it's doable on a quad because of the speed you can travel, but you'd have to start really early and be in the woods until right around closing to hit it all in the trucks, if you could even manage doing so at all. Not sure of how many miles we did since my odometer is in kilometers and I didn't check at the start/end, but I've done 40 miles in a day on the quad and still had sections that we skipped.
