Well aware of what "new" means. Worded bad maybe but whatever.
Just making it clear for everyone. They way you posted
"use new/OEM parts and not some aftermarket pieces" doesn't give the correct impression. That's all.

Sorry for your loss. I hate stupid drivers.

I always hear about these crazy driving conditions on the mainland freeways through the news. I cant imagine driving in those instances. Im so lucky I dont have to deal with that.

Ironically, Hawaii was #1 on the "worst drivers" list this year...go figure.

On the upside....maybe turn your 4r into a monster truck. You have the v8 and the 4x4 to do it. That way you wont have to worry about scratches or dents on the trails. Show those Jeep boys what the 4R is all about....haha.

Good luck with everything!!

Yo 1BadGixxer,

I like see pix of your 4R. I got the 2.5" DS on the front. Just wanted to see what the CF 2" in the rear looks like. With just the DS on, my 4R looks a little front high.

No worries, thats one of the unfortunate things about forums or text based environments in general.....sometimes things just don't sound right, oh well no biggie :bigok:

DSMGSX, I can see from the road signs where your accident was. I grew up near there.

I got to thinking about what I would do in your situation, and started searching dealer stocks.

I couldn't find a single new V-8 in stock locally...

I'm at work now... I'll send them in the morning. I still have stock rubberz on it but you can get an idea.

sweet. Why are you choosing Firestone A/T's? Just curious. I know Firestone has those buy 3 get one free deals all the time. My mom has those tires on her 01 Taco. Decent tire. No real complaints I guess.

Well, I have researched the crap outta this and its between those and the Toyo Open country A/T's. I want a semi aggressive tire but to be honest 90% of the driving will be on blacktop. I need a tire that will last and be a good all weather tire. On the mid atlantic coast we get all kinds of weather here. I need to be ready for anything.

A lady in the fast lane of a 3 lane highway was hit in the rear, she spun across 3 lanes heading toward me in the slow lane. I swerved to avoid direct contact. She struck me front fender just before front wheel spining me off the road into the guardrail. I then bounced off the rail plowing mud, grass etc another 300 feet. Came to rest rear end on guard rail. When it was all over for a mere second I thought I migh tbe dead. It was !SO quiet and calm. I didn't feel a damn thing. I looked down and my soda was still there, then like a timewarp I heard my music. I exited my vehicle, screaming obsenities. Tried to get 911 - they were too busy to answer. Five 911 calls later still no answer. I just gave up trying. So much for paying my taxes.
I do have insurance, however I dont want this vehicle back. It now will go on record with 13K of damage. I have just made my 16th payment on it. Once fixed, I'll have to sue for Diminished Value (DV) then try to get rid of it. The shop just came today to take it away.
Im now driving a GM Cobalt, Now I know why GM went out of business. What a POS
Besides having to fight for what I need to get out of this mess, I am OK. At least I got to see my kids again. Thanks for asking.

it must be the non "SS" version

Off Benfield Rd, east of Jumpers Hole.

We lived in a little 1 road neighborhood that is now tucked between Rivendell and Bluff Pt.

Back then, Rivendell was a farm field, and Bluff Pt was woods.

SPHS class of '75

Man I am really sorry to hear about that. I feel your pain, no joke I got rear ended on the freeway yesterday. Definitely not as bad as yours, but it still sucks. No one was hurt, but I got hit pretty hard. Definitely need a new bumper, tailgate, and exhaust but the car that hit me was probably totaled. Interesting link about the diminished value, I will be bringing that up to the insurance company tomorrow. Let me know how everything progresses with your situation.

Sorry bro!
3. You may be entitled to a diminished value claim in some states.

Diminished value is based on the idea that any car that has been in an accident, regardless of how well the repairs are done, is worth less than the exact same car that hasn't been in an accident.

What you can do: In 14 states, it's allowable for you to file a claim for that lost value. See Diminished value payments when your car has been in a wreck. Thirty-six states and Washington, D.C., do allow insurance companies to exclude payments for diminished value, so if you live in one of those states, you won't get to claim the loss. But in Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia, you have a chance of getting a diminished value payment. Successful cases are also generally made against the at-fault driver's insurance by a third party.

Man, people need to slow the hell down and pay attention and learn how to drive!! I glad everyone is ok!!
Nobody in MD can drive worth a shit. Some of the worst drivers I have seen. I've drivin in a ton of states, we have the worst.

Sorry to see what happened to your truck. I hope everything works out well for you. In the end, at least you were not hurt. Vehicles can always be replaced.
