Plus, realistically, how many people aged 21/22/23 not in the military are buying brand new 30+ thousand dollar trucks? Not a whole lot.

Pfft, by 20 I was married, built my first house, and was doing just that. I know I'm in the minority though - just found it amusing to see the disclaimer so many times, but it sounds like there's some history there.

I've never had anyone accuse me of having my parents buy my vehicle for me. My first vehicle was a hand me down 99 Camry from my grandpa. I had it for 7 years and put a ton of miles on it, it was a fantastic first car. I am just proud that I saved up on two deployments and was able to buy such a nice "first new car" for myself at such a young age.

I have two boys, one 28 (US Army Special Forces currently), and one 26 (Musician and sound engineer).

No way either of them could afford a new 5th gen. Interesting seeing a few of the ages posted.

I bought mine when I was 22, sold a car, had insurance money from a car that was stolen, and sold a scooter. Worked two jobs, went to community college, saved up. Success :trophy:

Bought my 3rd Gen. SR5 when I was 59.
Got my 1980 Land Cruiser diesel when i was 39, and sold it at age 50.

41 here. Traded an 06 XC90 for the 2012 TE runner for my wife. First time I drove it it became mine . I then traded my 2011 TRD DC tacoma for a Camry V6 SE for the wifey, and she loves it. Win win I guess, miss the taco sometimes but the runner is excellent!
