Hello guys!
I recently have changed the suspension on 07 v6 4runner and have a few questions that I was hoping you guys can help me to figure out.
Before numbers are based on stock UCAs + 5100 + new front LCA bushing (only front, rears are old).
After numbers are with ICON UCAs and Dobinsons 220+350.
I am not sure I can trust the place that did an alignment although it has a great reputation locally.
1) I was under the impression that just by adding an aftermarket UCA with built-in increased caster I should get better numbers even if the rear Cam LCA bolts can't be adjusted -- was I wrong?
2) The mechanic who was doing an alignment said "There is no point in adjusting the bolts and putting stress on the bolts when the bushings are completely torn, they will be unsafe. There is no point to try to adjust bushings that are completely torn it will not make any difference since the bushing will be moving around anyways." -- is that how it works? The mechanic who was replacing LCA bushings only did the front (which I found out only after it was installed back on the truck as he claimed there were not too bad).
3) Should I worry about it at all or is it okay to drive like that? A few trips on the highway were alright, didn’t feel any issued with steering, so may be the juice is not worth the squeeze?
Please see the pictures below.
