This sounds about right. I was told up here in Alaska that they are getting the first one in two weeks and that includes shipping from Portland (about 1 week). I bought the first one they are selling

It is Limited, Magnetic Gray Metallic and the only option is Carpet floor mats
We were kind of stuck with what was ordered, but didn't seem like a lot of option we wanted anyways. I will put on a remote start, but don't mind going with a 3rd party option (any suggestions feel free to let me know).
Since we are down to one vehicle right now it was either get this one car coming in or something completely different. They have several more in the pipeline, but they are not even built yet and we can't wait longer than the 2 weeks that we will wait now. Never bought a car rushed like this before, but real happy it worked out. I loved the 4runner two years ago when I looked for cars (registered here then). We decided to get something bigger (Armada) so real happy I am getting the new 4runner now.
The wife rolled our CRV 4 days ago (everyone is ok) so she was all for anything with a full-time 4wd and something sturdier

I'm in a similar boat because I have to pack my new car up and "head west" on Thanksgiving. I've been without a car since September 10th and I've been waiting to buy a new T4R since it was unveiled at the Texas pig farming extravaganza in the end of September.
I'm hoping when my sales agent calls me tomorrow she will tell the delivery has been pushed back up to the week of November 16-24. Because the last I heard from them was Friday and they had no update. The previous update was last Tuesday and that was when I was notified of the nationwide delay due to a parts problem. Even though the delay has been confirmed by several other people from several different dealers, the fact that you and at least a few others are hearing "November 16th" gives me some hope.
I talked to my wife tonight and we are going apeisht trying to figure out logistics. It sounds like we may end up with a 2010 Outback if our T4R remains held up until December.

I just spoke to someone at Dars Toyota of Baltimore, MD. He had access to the Central Atlantic Region database and said that there were no allocations of Trail Editions until about 7 weeks from now.
He did say that the system is showing expected arrivals of the SR5 and Limited editions around November 15 (he also had VINs already) and he didn't mention anything about delays (although I forgot to ask specifically about the "parts delay" thing talked about in this thread).
So, it sounds like the NY to southern Virginia region probably won't be getting a Trail Edition anytime soon.

Supposedly there are only 34 2010 TE's alotted for the Gulf States region down here out of 6000 to be delivered over the next 2 months and they are all spoken for by other dealers and going for up to $3000 over MSRP.
Have you considered a new 2009 Trail Edition?They will come down alot off sticker just to move them and will save you a ton of money that you can pocket for mods . I did find couple of them around here or are you dead set on a 2010?Just google "2009 4runner Trail review" to read up on them.They are great 4x4's (Torsen Locking center differential AND factory locking rear)with the all the bugs worked out ,lots of aftermarket parts now and a ton of knowledge on this site about them. You purchased a limited and the floor mats are an option?

I will certainly keep this in mind if it looks like they cannot meet the Xmas deadline that has now been given.
Also, I'm fortunate that I'm paying $500 under MSRP for the Trail. It would cost significantly more if I wait to buy it later, especially since I would have to purchase it in California.

Not sure of your specific situation but keep in mind you'll have to pay registration fees in CA as well. Even if you pay tax on the new car in your state, you'll have to pay the difference between that tax and CA tax to reg it here. https://mv.dmv.ca.gov/FeeCalculatorWeb/newResidentForm.do
Many keep out of state tags but I've heard of people getting busted on that too...

Thanks! I hate taxes as much as the next guy but I don't want to try to screw the state.
It is ridiculous though that you have to pay taxes if you bought the new car within 12 months of moving to CA! That's extreme! That's so backward-reaching as to almost seem unconstitutional. [no wonder people are fleeing the state]
At any rate, I will register it in CA first so will pay the full kabootle to CA.

X2...left back in 2007.
Miss the scenery, Yosemite, Death Valley, and Tahoe in the winter...but didn't like how the state was being run or taxed to death...
