Hello:
I was hoping someone with experience may perhaps help with answers to the following questions regarding the fitment of American Racing AR23 Wheels to my 2002 4Runner SR5 4WD. My questions are as follows:
1) I am considering the 16X8 AR23 mated to 265/70/R16 tires. This is the tire size the vehicle had when I purchased it used in 2012 and what I have continued to use. Many of the distrbutors for the rims indicate that a lift kit "may" be required. When I inquired about whe a lift is needed (non-stock tire size, etc), I cannot seem to get a solid anwser, just that is a required by the mfg to make that statement. Can someone please tell me if my tire size combined with the stated rim and stock ride height will cause any clearance issues? (I should also state that I do not "off road" with my 4Runner. It is daily transportation with a considerable amount of long distance highway use.)
2) I understand that the AR23 is a "lug centric" wheel while the stock rims are "hub centric". Are there any hub spacer rings recommended for the AR23s that would take up any hub gap and eliminate the possibility of undo wear or vibration at highway speeds?
