KBB 2015 4runner Review

Overall, its not a bad video. No glaring inaccuracies that I can tell. And highlights pretty much everything we already knew about our runners. But when you compare apples to oranges, you're not really getting a good comparison (CUV to SUV). But that seems to be the trend now.

Also Alex on Autos has a new Pro review as well. But per the usual, he can't get some basic facts correct. But he does a good job of explaining other things, like the difference between BOF and unibody design/utility. But, his opinions are much more favorable towards that of the CUVs and the outdated Xterra, and I find that he contradicts himself a few times when basing his opinion...

The KBB review pretty much sums up my opinion of my 4runner. It is what it is, take it or leave it. At least with the 4runner you have good aftermarket support, try finding a lift kit for your Highlander. I doubt you will find any great forums like this for some of the others either (other than Jeeps). To me if the engine faces the front tire instead of the front bumper I do not want it. I am old school.

I agree, the KBB review was nice and unbiased. They emphasized enough that you are trading the fuel economy and smooth ride of a unibody with the capabilities and toughness of a 4R.

I'm a first time 4R owner and I chose to ignore most online reviews. They all rank the 4R low because they put it in the same vehicle class as unibodies and then ding it because it has lower fuel economy and a rougher ride. I don't understand people that buy 4Rs instead of Highlanders and then complain that it drives like a truck.

Most people don't have basic knowledge of where to start doing homework.

I'm one of those people. Except, the wife and I love that it drives like a truck lol... But didn't really know the difference before owning one and reading every thread on this forum.
