Another Bilstein 5100 question

I have not reached out to them. I was at Joshua Tree this weekend. Ill try contacting Amazon tomorrow. Once I get an update, I will let you know. They know they messed up on the pricing and hopefully they dont cancel it.

Seems like quite a few people have called them out for a scam. I'm in the process of cancelling the whole thing now.

Perfect example of what I was stating. Look at post #9. He has great alignment #'s at 2.5" lift with stock uca's. Go figure.

Not every Toyota is built exactly the same. Some may get lucky.
I just lifted mine and did the SPC UCA's haven't had a chance to get her aligned yet. I have an appointment tomorrow to get it done.

I am requesting that the tech set the Caster at 3.5 and the Camber 0 or slightly negative. The further out he can push the LCA's the better it will be for my inner CV boots.

There really isn't any problem with running the stock UCA's
The only thing would be less than optimum handling and inconsistant tire wear.
But the truck will most likely be able to get within spec.

But that being said simply because you are in spec doesn't mean it's good.

Depending on your set up there is an "optimum" setting that will yeild the best results.

For me I'm OCD so I will keep messing with it until I get the best possible results.

So I guess it would really depend on what your personal standards are in the quality of your end result?

You spend $35K-$40K or sometimes more on your 4runner, and you're worried about $500 for a set of UCA's to do it right? Go figure???

I don't make a dime if you buy a set of UCA or not.

I simply try to give you the best advice from my personal experience to help you enjoy your ride.
I would recommend UCA's. But at the end of the day it's really up to you!

Good luck!

Thank you Toku58! You are definitely correct. I'm OCD as well and sometimes need a reminder. I'll most likely end up with spc uca's as well.

On another note, I remember you from another forum TN 2nd gen tacoma. My 2nd gen Tacoma was similar to yours. Blue with leer xq... I miss that truck. Sold it and got into a 3rd gen Tacoma and couldn't live with the engine/trans. Traded it in on My new T4r. It is awesome so far. Just can't wait to get it lifted and wheels/tires.
Thank again

Got it!

So UCAs aren't mandatory but highly recommended. I agree with the OCD comment. I'll do the UCAs with the lift to make sure that I'm happy.
As always, thank you all so much for the advise. It's guys like y'all helping others that makes this forum so great.

P.S. I tried to do that cool reply thing where everybody's answer shows up on my post and I comment/thank everyone individually. Didn't happen. So thank you each.

Look to the lower right corner of the post you want to quote. Instead of clicking on the quote button, go one icon to the right and hover over it. It will say "Multi-quote". Click on this button on each post you want to quote, and on the last one you will click the actual quote button. All of the comments will appear in your reply window. Just type your replies in between each set of comments and you should be good.

Or you could change your user name? :hiding:

What should I look for in aftermarket UCAs?
A quality company with a reputation and history of making quality parts. There's 4 or 5 that come to mind.

Total Chaos
JBA
Icon
Camburg
Light Racing/SPC (had issues in the past, not sure of their current product)
Dirt King

Might be a couple others as well

For some reason Amazon says that they won't fit the 2016 Toyota 4Runner. Is this true?

I ran into the same problem with the facelift in 2014. It's all the same suspension. Some catalogs and dealers just haven't caught up to the new model years yet.

5100's to level truck

i just put 5100's on my 2016 SR5, set at 1.75 in.
the back(measured from ground to top/center if wheelwell) is still 1/4 in. higher.
the ride now feels much more controlled, not feeling like it is floating anymore and hardly any nosediving when i brake.

Caster has nothing to do with tire wear. Camber and toe, certainly.

It's funny you took my entire post and selected a part that you could interpret in a way that was never intended.
I don't remember ever saying that CASTER had anything to do with tire wear?! But change the caster and you will affect the camber & Toe. IFS is rather complicated!

I guess you have it all figured out! LOL!!!!!

Here a post I did about 10 yrs ago!

Good luck!

I had my lift installed at Wesley Chapel.

Rod Lundquist did the installation. He did a fantastic job on mine. They are pricey, but I believe the job was done well. I'd go with cornfed spacers on the rear. They help compensate for the driver side lean. I went with 2.0" in the rear because I carry a lot of weight when I go to the woods. Recommend the UCAs.
Enjoy!
