Anything is possible, but I would not want to try this with a heat gun. It's a slow process with an oven. It'd be pretty tough with just a heat gun.

i would use an oven. if they dont work in yours use a friends. they dont stink or anything so its not a big deal. i put the oven up to 150 and turned it off when i put each light in. after 8 minutes or so i pulled them out and got to work. on the first one i did i ended up putting it back in the oven to reheat

Just got done, did it with a heat gun, a lot easier than I expected, just time consuming, left the amber marker but I matched it matte black to the headlights, looks great, just need to restore my lenses now!

Hell yeah! I looked everywhere for these a few months ago and they weren't listed anywhere. that's exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully they will stay listed for another week or two till I can manage to burn another $200. xmas was a killer this year on the pocket !!

Just ordered a set of these... then noticed it does not list V8 models as compatible - are the headlight assemblies different V6 to V8?? Obviously there is less room due to the engine size... but that seems like a parts nightmare for Toyota...

Anyone with a set of these have issues with this? Should I cancel my order?

There is no difference between the headlights in a V6 and V8. The difference is between the 03, 04, 05 models and the 06, 07, 08, 09 models.

Bummed I waited so long to do this!! Looks great for a couple quick hours work. I stayed busy alternating between R & L sides removal/ paint/ install etc.

Helping a friend replace her crap headlights next week and it looks like you have to remove the grill to get to the bolts, correct? Is there a write-up for that portion? Sorry if this is a no-brainer but I do not own a 4th Gen so am not sure. Thanks!

Has anyone tried to mask off the silver rings to preserve them? I think it'd look pretty good with everything black while keeping the rings silver.

That's a great idea. Whenever I do mine I would give that a shot. Worse case you can just paint over them.
