All things considered the rack is great. No major issues. One spacer is slightly shorter which will require a washer tomorrow but otherwise very pleased. Also, easy to install.

Yup. The 1x1 sits just behind the shark fin but I’m not sure you total need it.

8 1x2’s and 1 1x1. One of the 1x2’s holds the fairing up so the rest spread out. Since I drive a lot I’ll use the next few weeks to determine any wind issues.

It was definitely easy. I had read this would take 4 hours. From unboxing to complete install was probably 1.5 hours max. The hard part was lifting the assembled unit onto the vehicle. Where was the issue with the 1x2?

The only issue I've had is the front right sits lower than the front left which causes the fairing to sit a few mm's above the roof on that side. I thought it was an installation issue so I loosened all the bolts and tugged/pulled trying to fix the corner. I re-read the instructions to ensure I had followed them correctly and then saw the note "In some cases due to minor changes in the roof lines extra fence washers may be needed to level the rack at the mounting points."
No biggie, Ill buy those tomorrow and install them.

CBI has done a fairly decent job with QC. Everything was as expected.

Install question: Per the instructions ...the "glob of silicone" in step 1...how cured is that prior to you lifting the assembled rack into place...should the glob go on just prior to setting the rack and bolts through it...so it's still tacky/gooey?

Glob it on and place the spacer. Thats what I did. Its my understanding this is just a "nice to have" measure as any water that actually gets in there should drain out.

it's to keep the water from going in to the hole you freshly drilled. If he's referring to the full rack where you drill two holes. If that water drains, it's going to the headliner lol

I guess my question is time related....since the glob is over/in the hole that the hex bolt is going into in the next 1-2 hours...does the silicone block that path...or is it still soft enough?

Just glob it on and insert the bolt. I've since removed mine a few times to check on height and its fine. That sealant dries very quickly.

Double load panels and tred pros

Hey man, I'm quite curious how you were able to load the tree pros on with the tree pro mounts. My fat fingers can't slide in enough to get the bolt underneath and through. Did you have this issue? TIA

I had the same issue when i mounted it the 1st time. So i took the panels off mounted the tred mount then reinstalled the load pannels. Then i purchased a rtt and my tred pros wouldnt clear the tent. So i came up with this solution. I ditched the load panels(waste of 200 bucks) and took the tred pro mount apart and just used the studs off the mount. In order to make them useable i got a kit and rethreaded them to accept 1/4 20. Now i can just slide a 1/4 20 carrage bolt into the crossbar and screw the tred pro stud onto the carrage bolt. Hope i explained clearly. Ask if u need any tips.

You wouldn’t want to sell one of the load panels would you? I have no plans for rtt. If so pm me and maybe we can work out a deal.

i considered buying one but came to same conclusion...however i'll take one for science purposes if you're gonna toss it
