Anti-Sway WDS Hitch Anderson 3380 - Anyone Tried?

Have been hearing good things about this product from people who have tried using it. A lot of hate as well but mainly seems to be from people who have never tried it.

Curious for feedback or review from someone who HAS experience pulling with this product with a 4runner.

Like any WDS it is not a replacement for trailer breaks or air bags but at first glance looks great to control sway and redistribute a low/medium amount of weight to the front axle.

Not sure this should be used without a matching weight distributing receiver under a T4. The built in receiver is only mounted to a rear cross member, it does not have attachments going forward to the frame as in the photo. Not sure if one is available for a T4.

Toyota indicates you can and should use a WDS when pulling heavy loads.

it's fine to use a WD hitch and this has been confirmed by another user with an email from toyotas engineer

i don't know why so many people think that toyota engineers can't do FEA or empirical testing when designing their hitch, it's bolted to the cross member because the cross member can handle the necessary forces

There is also the Equal-i-zer which looks comparable. Both are around $500.

Anyone tried this out?

Anyone tried this out?

My previous vehicle was a Dodge 2500. I used an Equal-I-Zer when towing our 32' travel trailer. I was pleased with how it performed and would recommend it for that application. One thing to note is that it is heavy. I had a 10,000 lbs model and it weighed at least 50lbs by itself.
