ANTMAN'S Thread

Great pictures and write up. My parents used to live 30 minutes from there and have been to Hickory Run several times. Cool boulder-strewn glacial lake. Could you hear the water running beneath you while out on the rocks?

no?!?....sounds pretty cool though!...I use to go there as kid...but nothing like I remember

You two never disappoint. Awesome pics fellas and as usual great write on the awning Jeff.

Well if you ever to decide to make your way north across the GW Flatlander...I'm sure we can put something together this fall...:becky:

How about the Vermont Overland Rally?!?..hmmmm??

THAT'S GOOD STUFF!!! I knew I'd be getting replies like that anyway.

Update- Soon as I finished the writeup the brackets came!

Mounted up and working great...

Nice work Jeff. I like how in ^^ this picture the neighbor and his dog stopped to look at your awning.

Wait a second, Jeff. Weren't you the guy chiding us homeboys for buying the ARB awning when one could be made for $10 worth of spare garage parts? I think you said something similar about Rigid LEDs a couple of years ago... :blah:

Hahaha, you forget I used to live in Fishkill.

Well....The Rigid's came in the mail mysteriously and the ARB was a Father's day gift. I can't help it if I'm an awesome Dad.:first:

If you have the spare $$ both products are well worth it!

Don't you have some more Summit pictures to take or something to make the rest of us jealous? Get outta my thread!

Haha! You do seem like a pretty awesome dad, so I can't fault you for being awesome. Have someone gift you a better solution for our cutting boards!

how's the plastidip holding up on the handles? I'm torn between dipping mine or just buying a set of black ones.

It's holding up extremely well!

I had a couple small scratches on the drivers handle from my wedding ring but I hit it with some Turtle Wax ICE and they magically disappeared.

Do it!

You ArmorAll'd your wedding ring? That's weird.

You funny! I meant Turtle Wax ICE- but whatever.

Speaking of my ring- It's made of Tungsten Carbide, which they told me is pretty much indestructible. Yeah. I opted for the lifetime replacement warranty anyway when I bought it.

I just had it replace for the second time this weekend. I break stuff!

mine is Tungsten Carbide too. I only wear it to work, and even though it hit the keyboard a few times, it hasn't broke yet. I did not get the lifetime warranty on my $300 ring though.

Ahhhhh. Bad move. Bat hunting is hard on rings so I fully expect you to pay full price for a replacement in the near future. That sucks!

I know I am late to the party but what length or model ARB Awning did you go with. I am thinking this will come soon, probably after the front LED bar.

It's the 2500 model- 2.5 meters, or a touch over 8 feet. Autoanything has them for the cheapest I could find with free shipping FWIW!

have you be able to figure out what oem fog lamp switch fits in the empty slots to the left on the sr5? was thinking of putting so lights outside but wanted the switch to look like it belonged there you know.

do you have a sound clip of the mag exhaust?

No- there are a few on this sight but they never reflect the true sound IMO. I still like mine FWIW.

shawn719 found a switch that fits great. Here's the link:

Switches and Buttons

Scroll down to "Type 1 switch - Suits Prado 150"

They look great in that spot- this is a pic from his build thread:

Antman you're still a Master Craftsman regardless. Plus who else could come up with bumper booze holders?

Hey thanks! BUT- that pic is Shawn719's dash not mine! Thry look good, right?

My light switches are in the center console...
