Gotta trim the liners to fit the newer bumper, and fab some new brackets too. These don't fit!

Sweet job! That bumper should give you a few more inches of departure angle from the original bumper.
Did you forgo the parking sensors?
If so how did you kill the dash light warning? Not that I have those but just curious.

The sensors have a dash switch to turn them off. That's another project- honestly I'm on the fence about them. I may just put all 4 on that valence piece on the bumper. I've got some testing to do first. The system won't let me install just 2, it shows an error light on the display. We shall see-

I didn't post pics of that on purpose because, well, I don't think it'll help anyone... I used Rigid's deutsch connectors at the lights only and saved the rest of their extensive wiring harness for another project.
Basically, I hooked the lights to my existing rear, rack mounted light (soon to be a $30 Fake Rigid Dually LED, lol). I can turn the lights on anytime from my "secret" hidden outside hatch switch, or from my console mounted switch.
I didn't wire it to come on with the reverse lights because they are really way too bright (obnoxiously so) for "normal" reversing... :lookout:

Annnnd.... another semi-thrashed bumper bites the dust.
This replacement belonged to [MENTION=112177]4RnR Grl[/MENTION] and actually is in much better shape than mine. Thank you Corey!
One problem- the bumper had 4 license plate holes in the front.
I used a Bondo "bumper repair kit"- which is just flexible epoxy and some screen mesh. After some elbow grease, it worked out great- no more holes!
Rather than try to color match the gray, I masked the center and sprayed it with Rustoleum bedliner. I think it turned out great!

Man, the bumpers look great! We're trying to piece together a TE or TRD (whatever I can find first) bumper swap right now actually.
Question on the painting. Did you paint it yourself? The reason I ask is because I had some trouble with color matching my rocker trim even though I went to an automotive paint shop and got Mag Gray PPG paint...They even re-did a custom match using the stock rocker trim, and I still don't have a good match...close enough for the little piece of trim, but certainly not for a bumper...

I painted the center black- the bumper was already gray.
Wasn't the rear one white?

Oh- the rear was painted by a local small shop. He had 5 different color samples for Toyota Mag Grey and matched it up pretty close. They got the bumper back to me in 2 days!

LOL- I've been contemplating the exact same thing! My truck is looking better than it has in the last 3 years- I might just try to enjoy that for a little while...
I'll definitely wheel it again, just not sure if I want to ruin all this hard work so soon, lol.:yield:
I'm so good at taking the covers off now, maybe I'll just take 'em off and wheel naked. That'd be pretty cool, right?

Parking sensors are back on and working 100%!
The original holes were keyed so to keep the retainers from spinning I plastic welded them to the bumper. All good! Here's a pic comparing the original bumper cutout and the holes I used...
It's about time you did something about that big rear end. :clap2:

If you ever have a use/need for another set of sensors, I have a set collecting dust in my garage that I'll never use. Let me know and you can have them.
