ANTMAN'S Thread

Can't tell if you two Antman Titanpat57 are buddies giving each other s*** or if this is legitimate back and forth banter :der:

I'm going with the first guess...

Stick around Nick...it's going to get a better...the mood is already set for the evening.......lol

Cheers *****es!

Two things I have to say here......
1. At least Titanpat57 isn't drinking garbage beer....if you are drinking Bud light where there are quality what appears to be craft beers in the background. You should re-consider your life choices like Kaitlyn Jenner
2. Antman that thing looks like the tailbone pad....or depends pad(maybe depends for you) for your bumper. I thought thats why we wheeled our rigs, so we could break them, and then convince our ladies, or men in Corey's case to let us buy new stuff.

It's all on the line Brother...you have no idea.

I thought Antman was the top in this relationship, but I guess him and Titanpat57 just take turns......:gun4:

His ass is...well....it's not like it used to be. Let's just leave it there.

I finished this up this morning. Drilled new holes for the hitch pin to move the skid plate in about 2"- I had to push the spare tire over a little to make that happen. Then I added something to remind me about ripping off the bumper, lol.

This makes a nice step to get on the roof too, BTW!

Funny... I have thought for a long time that something like this would be really helpful on the trail. It's cool to see that someone made it! At least your rear end is protected.... From Titanpat57....

Auxiliary Lights turn signals

Antman, great MOD, maybe you've done what Im about to ask.

I want to mount a pair of amber SR-Q2 lights in my grill. Question is, can they be tied to one of the following:

Turn Signal(s)
Low Beam lights
DRL

Ideally, Id like them to be tied to the turn signals and to flash just as the OEM turn signal lights would flash.

Im not interested to access them outside of the vehicle being on. No switches, no toggles, only on when the vehicle is running and the light switch itself is on or in use.

I appreciate any help you can give.

ANTMAN MOD #9

Always on DRL's (Daytime Running Lights)

Some of you expressed that you would like your DRL to be on whenever you want. In stock form they automatically turn off whenever the headlights are on. This MOD is very easy! Took me 5 minutes (after the troubleshooting session.... ;): )

The DRL will be on anytime the truck is running, regardless of which lights are on or off. The stalk will not turn the DRL's off anymore (I may work on that one later - EDIT- DONE, but it's a royal PITA http://www.toyota-4runner.org/963785-post319.html ) :)
If you want to be able to turn the DRL's off, I'll explain that in a minute.

Oh yeah, your turn signals will still work as normal.

Let's get to it...

This is the wire you need to tap into and ground. Plug #F11-White, Pin #5. The wire color is light green.

Now would be the time to praise Nashman69g for posting the EWD...again! :)

Grab this panel and pull it towards you to access the plug - no tools needed.

Here is the wire. You can see the hole in mine from the test probe...

Use a pink 3M wire tap, or similar and tap into the wire to connect a wire lead for the ground.

Here is a good ground that's close, same as used for my Fog MOD.

Taaaa Daaaaaa

Fogs+DRL ( I have ultra white DRL bulbs, and yellow PIAA fogs)

View attachment 53260

EVERYTHING ON (Headlights, Hi beams, Fogs, DRL's) I know it's hard to see...

As I stated before, the DRL's will be on whenever the truck is running.

If you want to still be able to turn them off, simply run the tapped wire lead to a switch, and the other terminal on the switch will need to be grounded. I will do that next unless I can figure out how to turn them off with the stalk again...

EDIT- I improved upon this MOD: Version 9.1

Happy Modding gentleman!

Antman,

Just want to say how impressed I am by the scope of your mods. I am a new 4Runner owner, just hit 6K miles on my Gray SR5, and I am eager to attempt many of the things you have done.
Just finished my first build of a storage drawer, have to get to the minimum number of posts before I can start my build thread (anyone know how many that is? haha) Thought I would start with my appreciation, your thread is inspiring.

-Jake
