Any REAL Bull bars for the 2010 in the works?

Blacknight, I think the useless comment was directed at the Broadfeet guards and silly looking rear bumpers earlier in this post. The one on yours looks good, but I dont know what it looks like where it is attached. Like Seattlemike mentions, if the bar is not attached or made properly. It will do more damage than good especially if an air bag goes off !!!

Correct, I dont like the horrible half-ass low looking broadfeet ones. Wasnt against yours Blacknight. But you do have to remember that ALL bull bars or anything in the front could cause the front airbags NOT to deploy in a front end collision, and do more damage in a slow speed collision then they are worth. Is that a reason not to buy one, no not really, but something to consider if you are just purchasing one for aesthetics rather than function.

And you are 100% correct about the NYC comment, spot on.

Nice....Im on a Niner Air 9 full custume build (22 lbs) Mtn. Bike and an old kick ass Specilized Allez Roadie with 105 groupo, bontrager carbon/aluminium seat post, stem and bars, Kenisis carbon fork and bonti Race X lite wheels. Ride on pal.

So as for a bull bar what are you expecting? What would be different to make it useful? It's a bull bar not a full front end brush guard.

ciaz, if these are not functional (I'm assuming you were referring to all) what bull bar is functional and what function is it that you want it to preform that these will not?

Please tell and expand vs. I don't like it's not functional. It would help more if you stated what is better or why it's not functional.

To my understanding the bull bar is a body protection item. Granted it's just for partial frontal protection. A full brush guard would be needed for full frontal protection.

Those bullbars appear to hang down below the lowest point of the vehicle, ruining the clearance. If I'm also not mistaken, it's gonna degrade your approach as well.

Yes, many bullbars will do more damage to your vehicle in a real accident, but those examples look like they'd fall off after a rough bump and rip all the underworkings of your car out as your drive over it.

Look at the kind police and emergency vehicles use, and see how they are attached.

Ciaz, you're looking at the wrong pics ! The one Blacknight posted do NOT look like they are mounted being the lowest spot. The previous posted pic do though. I think the Aries look good.

I can't insult anyone for what they choose to do to their truck, since that is their business... but yes the Bullbars are purely cosmetic. Like putting flames on the side of your car. I wouldn't ever do it, but some people like them so have fun and enjoy!:driving:

Will733, The reason I am considering the Aries or Steelcraft bull bar is to avoid any "MINOR" shopping cart/unseen obstruction when parking DINGS. (more for the wife) The plastic bumper and grill will easily exceed $1,300 if it gets crunched/cracked. And I too like the looks of the bar. The reason for starting this thread was because I've seen some here that were not designed correctly(ie those made by Broadfeet)
