Any reviews of the new Bilstein 6112's?

At the same time I installed 6112's in front, I put FJ coils and 5100's in the rear. After one month I couldn't tolerate the stiff, bouncy ride that felt unstable at 45mph on mountain pass corners. The rear never seemed in synch with the rest of the 4runner.
Mostly out of frustration, I spent the money on Icon 2.0 reservoirs and Icon 2" springs. I wish I would have saved my money and waited to do this in the first place. The difference is 'night and day' when it comes to soaking up bumps, railroad tracks, etc., and the off-road characteristics are firm and in control, recovering quickly and smoothly.
My note to self: pay once and get the real deal, even if you have to save for it.

Do you know the rate of the ICON springs? I just got T12 springs which are ~200lbs, I'm thinking about getting the ICON 2.0 rear shocks for them if they are a good match.
Thanks! I sometimes tow a light motorcycle trailer and some gear in the back so the rear at that height works well. If it were level it would sit lower in the rear when loaded. Just something to think about if you frequently have weight back there.

According to chart here (http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/162125-coil-rates-oem-4runner-oem-fj-moog-others.html) they are 207 lbs. So should be a good fit for you.
Love the way yours turned out. Has it settled at all since? any more updates on how it rides with T12 in the rear?

does anyone have data oin how much each perch yields in terms of lift? 2wd vs. 4wd vs. v 8 vs. v6 vs. 4th gen or 4.5 gen. Do i need to call bilstein to get the answer im after?ound:
Adjustable spring seat offering 0-2.5" of lift. Adjustable in increments. Can be set at 0", .5", 1.25", 2" and 2.5" of lift. According to Toytec here:
Bilstein 6112 Series Front Shock Kit
On the Toyotas, it's about a 2:1 ratio of lift. So a 1/4" spacer will get you approximately 1/2" of net lift. The grooves in the 6112's are about 1/4" apart.
Something to note, OEM springs are side specific to compensate for the weight of the battery, gas tank, and whatever else all on the driver side. The 6112's are not side specific so you will most likely need a 1/4" to 3/8" top spacer on the driver side to make the vehicle sit even. Or you can set the driver side one notch higher than the passenger side. I just lifted a buddy's FJ using that method and it came out perfectly even. I used a 1/4" spacer on my 4th gen and the passenger side is 1/8" higher.

I ended up calling bilstein yesterday to ask them the same question. They said that with 11 different spring rates available for the 6112 03-09 4runner application they cant say what the lift amounts for each of the 4 perches. And that wont have specific lift-setting numbers until the end of the year.
I notices that toytec includes lift values for 5 settings when i think the 6112 only has 4 settings AND they dont state what the spring rate is. i wonder if with the lack of manufacturers support most outlets are just these however they can even if they dont really know setting/lift amounts. THis might account for that long disclaimer at the bottom of the web page.

I don't know why Bilstein told you any of that. The 6112's come with 600 lb/in springs. There are 5 notches to work with. The lift heights are approximate, meaning final height may vary a little vehicle to vehicle. The 6112's use a 14" x 3" spring which is what most coilover companies use so there's a good selection of other spring rates available that you can use with them, available separately of course.

Not dumb at all; I ordered it already assembled. Its such a pita, that its worth paying someone $100 to assemble it.

Really? I thought these are pretty easy to assemble. I've installed a few sets now, they're not that bad.
Agreed. Last set I did was a breeze. Id love to get $100 to put these together.
I came close to ordering this set up as I wanted either Superflex's or the T12 1.5" coils in the rear, and it sounds to be one of the best riding options. Ultimately went with 5160/T12 just because the 5160's are on sale for another day, and sounds like they're a good match for the T12's with 6112's upfront.

My local shop assembled mine for $14 each and took him less than 10 mins! I can't believe someone would pay 100...

It is. Only problem is booking a time, there's always at least a three week wait to get in because it's so popular. Other shops in the area usually fit you in in a day or two.
But back on topic.... I'll be installing 5100's with OME 883's and T12's tomorrow. This will be my first foray into Billy territory but it's good know these 6112's could be another option if I'm not satisfied.
