Anybody know if wiring for '06 Limited running board lights disconnects inside?

I have an '06 4Runner Limited, and removed the OEM lighted running boards days after I bought it. The harnesses for connecting the lights are hanging from the floorboards. I have them tucked into holes in the frame, but would prefer to remove them if there's a connector inside (haven't pulled the carpeting to check). I am guessing there might be, and some factory plugs to fill the holes. Can anybody confirm this??

If you don't mind my asking, why did you remove the lighting? I have a '04 SR5 Model & I sure wouldn't mind having a pair of OEM running board lights, that's just me though....

I will be off-roading my 4Runner, and I learned long ago that running boards are a hindrance, and the first time they hit a rock, will not only destroy themselves, but damage the rocker panel, as well. Right now, I am bare rocker panels, but as soon as I sell them and the other parts I have up for sale from my FJC, I will be getting some rock sliders for protection.

Hope this helps with understanding my motivation...

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. Now I can see why you removed the running boards I haven't had a chance to go off roading yet (never did it before) so I can only imagine how annoying off roading can be with running boards attached. That is a very smart move on your part, BTW. I removed mine (Used to have a 3rd gen '99) just because I thought without them, the 4R looked a lot more beastly. Definitely did not think about the negatives when it came to off roading since I've never done it before.

Do such holes exist in non-limited models? I have a 05 SE V6 and I want to install LED's on the bottom of my running boards and wired to come on when the truck is unlocked (just like the dome light). I want to know if I can run the wiring through the floor into the truck.

If you look at the link Chaz provided, you'll find another link that takes you to the .pdf install instructions -- apparently, there are rubber plugs through which you would cut a hole to pass the wiring through on an SR5 or SE...
