Again, go find another forum. Everyone knows who the new president is BTW.

No memes. Same thing as posts.

Also, a request has went out from another mod (not me) to admin asking for official announcement on political and religious posts. Will keep you informed.

What blew up your skirt and died?
 
My day was fantastic. Went elk hunting for about 10 miles. Saw a few elk long ways out. Then went salmon fishing this evening. Caught a medium size coho. Today was great every meal was perfect and nobody pi*sed in my Cheerios.

Even my defecation this morning has a fresh rosy smell that just makes me look forward to a great day instead of the rotting stench of decaying past. I must have ate something good yesterday.

I don't want to post political crap so I don't have to leave...

The thread in question did not start out political. Believe it or not most of the current issues in today's society are not political, people make them political. For example, I could discuss racism or abortion or black lives matter or infrastructure or the second amendment or pot all day long without mentioning a political party or politician.

I started a thread a long time ago on pot. As far as I know it went several pages without politics getting in the way.
Issues are just that... issues. When you resort to name calling and disparaging remarks about a candidate or group of people then you are showing everyone reading your post your ignorance on the issue. This also instantly inflames the opposition so they respond in kind and we get an argument and then we get someone reporting the argument. Now, who does the complaining? Well, I see several of you here posting in this thread!

This is not a "safe" space. This is an off topic area of a 4Runner forum. When you look at the topics you see everything from smoked meat to mountain bikes. Off topic.

You want to talk about politics? We have tried "talking" about politics and it resulted in noting but insults and arguments. Useless waste of bandwidth. If you want to talk about "your" ideas of politics, go somewhere else. I can't say that any clearer.

Now, to address an earlier snarky comment from you:
Power hungry and abuse? C'mon man. If I were power hungry and abused being a mod I would just ban you and be done with it. I hate banning people. I hate giving infractions, but have you ever thought how nice this forum is? How most of the people help out by offering advice and even picking people up that are broke down or going over to their house to help with a mod? It's not like this by accident. If the mods didn't do what they do this forum would turn into anarchy in just a few days. It would have every spammer, scammer and sleaze posting nothing but links. There would be no help because it would just be a pissing match, just like the political threads.

I actually visited several automotive forums. Some allow political comments in off topic. Those who do are heavily edited and moderated. Many forums don't allow them. This is one of them.

Last, I told you to message admin to volunteer to be a mod. How's that working?

At least in the future when you sit over here and make snide comments about me or the rules tag me so I can respond.

of the few whiners and complainers, how many of them have you told to find another forum?


this forum DOES allow it. it is YOU that doesn't.

wasted bandwidth? is that a joke? if anything, that is one thing that admin would want, since that means more traffic, which means more money for the company.


those people are whining to you, because YOU have made it an issue. just because they complain, doesn't mean you need to do ANYTHING about it. as long as forum rules aren't being broken, and they aren't. YOUR rules are.


what actually is the problem with consenting adults having a conversation? even if it gets heated, so what? wtf does that matter?


to that last thing, I did my part, its out of my hands.

you seem to have no problem responding to anything. besides, I wasn't talking solely about you. there is more than one mod on this board that I feel should NOT be mods.
