Ok so has it gone to far yet. Less than 10% of the population owned slaves. But apparently people today are still affected by something that stopped at the end of 1865. That would make them 151 years old to have experienced it. Not sure how black people are the only ones still affected by it. The Romans and Greeks and Americans for the matter had slaves of all races. It still goes in today in parts of Asia and the Middle East in forms of sex slaves.

The call for reparations is just plain ridiculous. If they want reparations maybe they should go to the descendants of the original slave owners in Africa who sold them, eh?

I'm mostly Irish with 30% Cherokee, I don't want anything from anyone except the opportunity to work hard to earn a living, for people to stop trying to limit and remove my rights and to leave me the hell alone.

If you are someone who thinks slavery from 100+ years ago is holding you down, you are a slave of a different sort.

I invite people who identify as White to offer services or contributions to People of Color in need of time, energy, substantive care, and support.

I don't want to put limitations on this social experiment, but here's how I imagine it might work:

POC 1: I need a massage. This week.
White Person 1: [posts Groupon with code for redemption]

POC2: I need therapy. I can spend $10 a session.
White Person 2: [posts contact information to a therapist who they have made arrangements with.]

POC 3: I need groceries.
White Person 3: "I'll get them for you. PM me and I'll send an Amazon Fresh or Safeway delivery. You just pick out what you want. I have a $200 limit."

POC 4: I'm too upset to make dinner. I live in Seattle.
White Person 4: "Come over to my house for dinner, bring a friend if you like. PM me and I'll send you the address, or can I order delivery to you? What kind of food do you like?"

POC 5: I need a quiet place to work on _________.
White Person 5: "I have an office, spare room, house, that will be unoccupied on the following dates, would you like to use that space? I can send pictures ..."

POC 6: I want to scream and cuss at someone.
White Person 6: "I volunteer as tribute. How do we set this up?"

POC 7: I want to escape this cruel world in a *Specific Videogame* but can't afford it on Steam right now. This is not a crisis, I just don't trust people easily and want to see if this works.
White Person 7: Thank you for giving me the chance to do something concrete and relatively easy. I was quietly hating myself for doing nothing.

I'm German, Irish, Scottish, and I'm sure a lot more. My wife is Cherokee, Irish, Scandinavian, German, English. That we know of. Where the line

It did. but certainly not in the same proportions. Bit of a false equivalence.

No offense, but that statement makes me think you don't understand false equivalence. "Either it did or it didn't" is kind of the basis of a false equivalence, it fails to quantify.

So it's just matter of numbers then? If that's the case, the Native American tribes "win".

You look at anyone's ethnicity's history and hard times are there. But usually, they move on and get over the past.

Slavery in America is the exception, people just want to hold on to it and milk it for all they can personally gain from it. It's pathetic.
 
because the consequences of it are still affecting American society today. Not like everything became equal for african americans when slavery ended.
 
Or native Americans. Or Jews after WW2. Or the Russian after WW2. Or the polish after WW2. So what number can we pin on it. More Jews and Russian were killed by the Germans that slave. So do they qualify. Or did they put on their big kid pants and get over it and move on.

I stand corrected. Only 6 million Jews were killed during the holocaust.
11million Russian soldiers. 7-20 million Russian civilians depending on the historian reporting it. And there are still people alive today that actually lived it. To the best of my knowledge there are zero slaves alive today that were slaves in America. And very few people left that actually meet real slaves. Many of the black people that are here today had family that immigrated after slavery was done. So how were they affected by slavery.
If your saying it's because of the Jim Crow laws and the KKK. you should do some research. Both of those organizations were Democratic Party supported. The last surviving senator Aaron Byrd recently passed away. But he attained a very high ranking position in the KKK. When questioned on it he dismissed it as an honorary position and just something you did. While the KKK wasn't an official part of the Democratic Party it was most definitely started by southern democrats. So tell me how has the Democratic Party been helping blacks overcome slavery
Oh yea Hillary and Bill Clinton are southern Democrats. I'm not implying they are part of either affiliation. Just pointing out Arkansas is in the south and they are both democrats.
