Still today as well affirmative action mandates the accepting on minorities even if they were less qualified. Hell that why I didn't get in to the University of Washington and a friend did. He was accepted because he is black. I had slightly better scores across the board. That's racist as well but you just move on. But let's use the 60's as a marker. So everyone alive at the end of the 60's in now 56 years old or older. I don't se many of them protesting in the streets at BLM rally's. Just saying. Their kids may be there but not them. Why is that? Could it be that as those that were affected by that realized racism is based in ignorance and the best way to fight it is to not teach your children to judge people by the color of their skin but by the content of their character? I have done jobs for black families that you could see the influence of the parent in the children. One child is a hot head that look at you like you think your better than him. And the other comes up quietly and feel the need to apologize for the actions of his brother because it's the "way he was raised".

Racism isn't a natural color thing, it a taught behavior. There are just so many influence that have that much effect on a child growing up. I guess it's up to everybody to make up their mind as to where those influences come from.

I think it's a super interesting (and important) topic that would be cool to have in person (which is entirely possible given you also live in WA), but too hard to really try to get into online.

Agreed. I am in Sammamish for a bit longer. Then moving down by Mt Rainer for a bit. Till we find a new house we want

I always find it ironic that modern day racists just don't see it. The only racism they can see is racism against white people

Ummm? I see it all over the place. It just that when you point out it happens to white people that somehow makes you blind? I have seen it against Asians more than anything. Indians as well, Muslims, Whites, Blacks, Latins. Does this make me blind. Or does this make you look like your singular focused of defeating somebody's observation vs maybe trying to make a positive contribution?

And to help make your point against me. HOCKEY SUCKS almost as bad as Molsen beer.

For someone who "sees it" you spend an awful lot of time and effort arguing it doesn't exist.

Don't worry I don't subscribe to your "team" mentality. Your attempt to insult my "team" doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Ummm when have I said it doesn't exist. For someone who always has an opinion your comprehension of what you read seems to be very low. So tell me where I said it doesn't exist. ??????

I find it ironic when someone disagrees with or has differing views than liberals they eventually get labelled as racist.

All too common. And now there will be no facts to back up the accusations. Just the next subject.

Following the book Rules for Radicals. Everyone should read it. Very enlightening when dealing with someone who's only accuses and regurgitates talking points.

What?

It's easy to see that the majority of the MSM, politicians and people discuss racism against blacks on a daily basis.

Anytime a black person has anything happen to them by a non black person it is front and center in the media; cries of racism prevail before all the facts are even known yet.

You don't even hear a peep about black on black crime or black on white crime. Because it doesn't fit the agenda right now.

And, yep, racism against blacks exists. It always has and always will. Just like racism against every other people out there.

The "you don't agree with me so you're a racist" shtick is getting quite old.

Let's not trivialize REAL ACTUAL racism with using the term so willy nilly.

I'm not sure who you think is being racist here, because you've used it so broadly.

Why don't you call an individual out on it if you truly believe they are and discuss it openly instead of these thin veiled broad claims like the one quoted above.

You made many posts denying racial bias in policing. Post along the lines of this...

This likely won't occur outside a traffic stop. It could but 80% of the time your pulled over its because you did something wrong. You will on occasion meet the police outside of a traffic stop but that's a much smaller percentage and your probably doing something to get their attention. And on a traffic stop if you didn't do anything wrong there is probably something wrong with your car anyways. Tinted windows, cracked windshield/glass/mirror, no/too short mud flaps, tires stick out too far, tires too small, not enough tread, tinted tail lights, did you drift back and forth in the lane, did you have your turn single on long enough or too long before changing lanes. If you actually know what the laws of the road are you realize most of the cars today have at least one thing wrong with them. Then at night when your phone lights up and you look at it and your face is reflecting the light off the phone that could be a stop for hands free rules. There is always something. I got stopped for a safety inspection more than once. The suburban was 3 different colors, and in the process of a small restore. It was a BS stop but I was told by my dad that ultimately the police will win in the street and you have to fight in court. I was 16 at the time.
After the 2nd time I contacted a lawyer and he said unless they don't issue a certificate of passing or failing for the inspection it's legal. On the 3rd one I asked for my certificate of passing or failing (politely) and that was the last one.

This was replied to with studies showing that Black's ARE more likely to be stopped by police and are more likely to be meet with physical force despite being compliant.

I fail to see where I said racism doesn't exist. I am not going to take the time to retread the whole thread. But I will say that I said on more than one accession the the BLM movement is racist. Right there I said it exists.

Do you need to work on your reading comprehension?

Yeah, the goal posts are definitely dynamic when it comes to "racism". To the point that the justice system is totally corrupt when they make certain rulings...... hey, it's the nature of rhetoric.

You've spent much of the other thread denying racism against black people and the claims of BLM. As I've said, the only racism you choose to see is against other races.

Oh well, i dont expect much from the guy who berates me for not making positive contributions then follows that sentence up by saying hockey sucks almost as bad as molson beer. Your ability to see your own hypocrisy and logical fallacies is obviously limited.

Let's see if I am following you. You start out by saying that I only see racism against white people. Then I said racism doesn't exist. Then I said there is no racism against black people. They since I disagree with the premise of BLM and I called it racist because all lives matter and they shout those people down that makes me? You will find in life the if you make a statement and then stand on it and back it up with facts people will respect your opinion a lot more. I am the first to admit that I make mistakes everyday. But I own up to those mistakes and try and learn from them. I don't double down on them and hope if I say it again and again in a slightly different wording that it will make me right.

So what is it

Did I say racism doesn't exist?
Did I say racism is only against white people?
Did I say racism doesn't exist against black people?
Or are you not reading and comprehending what has been said and instead just waiting for your next turn to speak?
