Well, I've never welded aluminium before, prolly gonna get my friend or my father to do that! But if he doesn't have the time I'll just do it myself.

That's just nice to know. I know I'm a poser and all attention is good.

Not my lucky weekend, broke a wheel, my laptop's hard drive failed, and I'm having hard times gettin' the new hard drive on my FreeBSD server to work. g'damn.

Thankfully, a beer is my lifesaver!

Well, fixed the wheel today. Aluminium weldin' ain't so hard as I thought.
When we got the tire off my face just turned white. Fortunatly the wheel didn't fall apart while I was drivin', because that small "gap" was abit more than just that. It got nearly half of the wheel around the middle, so one more jump and it would have fallen off. lol.
NOT the first time that would happen tho'... I'm gettin' used to droppin' tires here and there, broken axles or bolts or bearings...
I think I dropped tires 3 times when I had the ol' Ford Ranger. Thankfully the bed was usually full of snow or trash, so it was pretty stable on 3 wheels...

Unfortunatly I didn't have the camera with me. So no photos off this :/

It's good that it didn't fall off! That would have been bad. It's good you were still able to weld it. Did you do it yourself?

Iceland!!!
I went there a few years ago... there are so many tours(that require such vehicles) that you go on there!! You will see ALOT of runners there... actually a lot of Toyo's! I went on tour of an entire Glacier the size of most states.. (cept TEXAS) it was so much fun.. go snowmobileing at the top and then play frisbee at the bottom... with a t shirt....
Then there are the women...... All friendly and most of them very Hott....
Ask our friend from Iceland if i'm lying..

BTLFED, you know that my truck isn't ready for modifications YET, first I need to install the extra low gears and more stuff.

I went there a few years ago... there are so many tours(that require such vehicles) that you go on there!! You will see ALOT of runners there... actually a lot of Toyo's! 'Yotas have been popular here for years... Especially Hilux and 4runner (2nd gen). Although, as the cost on diesel is rising up, American cars with V8 are growing much more popular thesedays...

Vatnajokull is the name of the glacier you went on, the biggest in Europe.
I've tried gettin' on top of that one for years. bad weather and conditions always halt me back. (broken this, broken that, sunk jeeps and more fun...)
Headin' for Vatnajokull next may. This time I'll walk.
(Although I'm goin' on my jeep earlier in may)

And the girls, ah well. It's always the cream of foreign countries that they have a beautiful girls...
I'm not quite sure there are any more of 'em over here than in America, or any other country.
Well, some of them are hauntingly beautiful and many are very friendly, but so are most of Icelanders.
But, even they're pretty or friendly, they're still girls....


Oh, and update of the truck? (That's what this thread is 'bout, not some bablin' 'bout ladies.) Installed a Viper anti-theft system last night, most of the headache was to remove the old anti-theft system, wires and shit everywhere!
Still not finished, wanna connect it so I can roll up/down the backwindow with the remote.
Too bad I'm working today and tomorrow so I have no time. lol (As usually)

The steering box will be drilled for the jack next week (I relised that I had no time for it so I went to one of the workshops that do jeep-modification and got 'em to do it!)

I have ALOT of respect you and your crew over there, you are really pushing limits. Function> Form, yet your trucks still look awesome! The yotas look like little monster trucks and that dodge and f350 on 54"s are just INSANE, too big for my personal tastes but id like to see that son of a b1tch tear through the snow.
Im showing my friends this thread so they can read the cool stories and drool over the pics.

My grandparents moved here from Iceland so I have been back a few times and always love it.

The first time I ever drove a car actually was on Vatnajokull driving one of the Arctic Trucks Land Cruiser 90's. I went on a trip to the glacier with a Tundra, two LC 90's and one of the LC 80's that crossed Antarctica with the head of Arctic Trucks and the head of the Toyota Distributor, and it is one of the most memorable experiences that I have ever had.

I hope to make it back to Iceland this year, and I hope to see many amazing Toyotas like your own driving around while there.

Their capabilty is insane as well.
But I prefer lighter vehicles, why?
Easier to get 'em out on your own.
Also, when they fail down and are FUBAR it's pretty hard to get those monsters back to town... Even my 4runner runnin' 38s was a huge problem to fit on the trailer when I rolled it over... lol.

LOL are you still wanting to put 3 transfer cases in it? Will 3 even fit?

I'm seriously looking into a trip to Iceland. The only time I have been out of the country was going to Tijuana, Mexico when I was a kid. I think going to Iceland would be a great experience. Plus maybe I could see your beast 4Runner in person! :biggrin2:
