ARB Compressor question

Has anyone mounted this puppy in the space on the passenger side against the firewall?

We have ran them in the past. We actually run both a ARB pump and a AC compressor pump in the same Jeep.

Any how, In both cases I have never ran a tank. If your just using it for air lockers, then there will not be any issues....... But if your planning on airing up tires larger then stock, you may want to run a tank. It takes a long time to air up using the ARB compressors. And it gets pretty hot. The other issue you may have is the other rigs on the trail! As soon as they know you can air up tires, they will want to use it. Which makes it work really hard.

ARB takes "ABOUT" 5 minutes each 33" tire. A york takes about 1 1/2 minutes each 35" tire.

Of course.......how else am I going to run the rear air lockers? :biggrin2:

Plan on putting it in the same spot ^ just not sure what kind of bracket I'll need. Looks like a great unit.

?? Was that with a single to twin compressor? This is a twin which should reduce/eliminate long inflation duration "issue"
 
True, the twin is much better then the single. For what most of us will doing in our 4runners it will be just fine.

We haven't ran ours in a long time since we installed the AC compressor. The difference in time is huge. I just love the tap of the blow gun and a air mattress if completely full.

I guess before I opened my mouth I should of checked to see if they make a kit for a toyota.

Would this be fine running off the stock battery? Or should the dual battery setup be installed before a compressor is added.
 
Anyone know if I could fill bike tires with this? I want to get a small compressor to fill bike tires for when I need to top off before rides. And since I will be adding a lift and larger tires later, I figured I might as well get a good compressor to use for everything. Im thinking this and the ARB hose kit?
 
^Of course you could fill bike tires with this. You would just need the correct fitting to fill a Presta or Schrader valve. Or you can save a few hundred and just get a hand pump. :)

Ha I knew someone would bring the hand pump up. I think I am going to install this pump where harper7 did and then run a line to the rear of the truck and put a quick release valve/compressor switch in the rear cargo compartment somewhere. Then I can just have a hose in my equipment bag and connect when ever I need air to tires/bike.

Why not just mount it in the rear? It'd probably be cheaper and less of a hassle to run wire vice hose.

I can't think of a place large enough to hold it? I have seen a lot of guys in the FJ forums mount the compressor just on a side wall in the back, but I would prefer it to be concealed. The jack or wheel well compartment is not large enough. I have seen Harper7's pictures of the rear of his truck de-constructed and I know there are some random un-used spaces here and there, but Im not sure if it would fit. I would rather be sure the compressor would fit before I go tearing apart the back. Any suggestions?
