ARB Compressor

Howdy. New member with a Salsa 4x4 SR5 here and looking to get into some modding. She technically belongs to the wife, so i'm limited on the cosmetic side of the house since she likes the Runner as is, but I figure everything else is fair game.

Which leads me to my question. Anyone istall an ARB compressor yet? I'm looking to get the same one as Egstlye (I think, ckmb12), but want to mount in the engine compartment like Harper in prep for the ARB rear locker whenever that comes available. Just want to make sure the kit comes with everything i'd need, if anyone had any tips, etc.

Thanks in advance and hoping at some point that I can contribute nearly as much to this forum as i've gotten from it.

I had the CKMA12 in my old FJ Cruiser, the compressor came with everything you need except a air hose connector/connection to the compressor. Kit has a full wiring loom, pressure switch, relay, switch and the instructions made it really simple to install and wire up.

I chose the CKMA12 over the lower output one and found that I could air up 4 265/75R16's from 12psi to 36psi in about 12 minutes.
 
Here is a pic of it installed on the FJC I used to own. The foot print of it is pretty small and I had it tucked behind the air intake hose.

I found on the 2010 4Runners there is a nice spot right behind the passenger headlight area.

That's for the second battery:naughty:
It already has the battery hold down holes and everything and is made for a second battery.Two batteries is an option on the Prados. Just need to make a new bracket for the power steering reservoir.

Plenty of room behind the intake like you had it on FJ . You just have to be creative to make a shelf or brackets.

I can attest to that fill-up speed. Mine is essentially the same system mounted in a tool box. From 20 psi to 32, it takes 1.5 to 2.5 minutes per tire depending on conditions. I was certainly tested with the engine-mounted version, but laziness prevailed.
 
Just got my ARB comp today. Wired it already, and mounted the switch in an empty slot on driver side to left of steering wheel. It works! I am going to locate it right behind the fuse box on the driver side, but I can't figure out how to mount it. Does anybody have pictures of how they mounted their compressors or similar things under the hood? Harper7, yours looks pretty sweet (on the other side), but how does it connect to the vehicle exactly?

wonder if this dual battery kit (for the 120) will work in the 2010...

Actually... I think I got that from Harper?

Still, it's the way to go for me. I haven't decided how much of their stuff I am going to buy but it looks like a complete drop in set up for an auxiliary power system, so I might just go with the full kit.
 
ARB Compressor Installed

Installed today. Pumps up the factory Bridgestones in about 3.5 minutes per tire from completely flat to 40psi. Ability to add ARB lockers later! We shall see how it does on my incoming BFG 275/70/17 AT KO tires. Pics:

Looks awesome man. This is exactly what I plan to do, although I expected to go in the same spot as Harper. Was there a reason you chose the right side as opposed to the left?

Thanks man! The reason I chose that spot was three-fold.
1. I want to put a tool box in the spot where Harper7 put his.
2. My spot is closer to the battery and to the firewall hole that goes to the dash switch, which is easier to wire up.
3. I like that it is on driver side versus passenger side.

Hopefully my choice of location won't cause other problems down the road.
