Eclipse NAV and Steering Wheel Controls?
You mentioned that the Eclipse AVN-5435 is compatible with steering wheel controls. Does that mean it was plug and play when you installed it? Or do you need the third party box to make it adapt? I am about to purchase an 06 Runner and am toying between the stock NAV upgrade or the AVN-5435.

Is AVN 5435 XM capable as well or only Sirius? Is there a way to intergrate my Ipod?

Yeah...that's the limitation, only one external input.
With the AVIC, you have seperate connections for XM and the iPod, both controllable from the headunit.
In addition, the AVIC is dual-zone capable, the 5435 is not. This means the kids in the back can be watching a video with headphones while the driver can be listening to audio.
The AVICs just do not look as well cosmetically as the 5435...but they are much more capable.

I am using the main (large) connector only. In my limited listening it worked fine. Since I have Sirius and XM, I never never listen to FM!
Once you have convinced yourself to pay for satellite radio there is no turning back.
Change of subject, I did not realize the OEM Nav had no menu option to turn on the camera. It is really nice to be able to turn on the camera while parked on the freeway to insure that the idiot behind you does not run into your truck.

If you have the rear view camera BEC104 installed it comes on automatically when you back up. You can also go into the menus and turn it on at any time.
This is handy in stop and go traffic. If you think the guy behind you is getting too close you flash your lights to get his attention.
