To anyone out there considering black rock wheels......I purchased the 908b wheels back in April. After two months of highway use, no offroading or submersion in salt water and the center caps are covered with numerous rust spots popping up. I will upload pics if anyone is interested. I knew when I opened the boxes when the wheels arrived and saw the center caps were wrapped in chinese newsprint, I knew right away the quality I had signed on for.

Anyway, I contacted Black rock and they said that I can spray paint them with matte black paint or buy more center caps, not covered under any warranty. The wheels themselves look great and I have had numerous compliments, its ashame that the center caps are junk.

Pretty common for aftermarket steel center caps. Just leave them off. You'll have to paint the "hubs" of your truck to keep them black. Those parts will also rust after some time.

the atx mojave center caps suck balls too.. and they send out nasty foot long american racing center caps when the wheels are ATX series???

took the seller 3 times to have ATX finally ship me the right short length caps with atx logo..

they're so crappy that ATX didn't want the 2 wrong sets back likely because it cost $.25 for all 4 :moon:

true but then there's the rusty circle.. wonder what's a good paint to paint it black and can still withstand high heat..

I used the flat black BBQ grill Rustolium available at home depot.

I used plasti-Dip that I had lying around. Holding up very well so far.

The next time I rotate the tires, Ill take them off and spray them. I very well probably will go without the caps. No need to advertise for anyone.

It wasn't rusty when I applied it. I sprayed several light coats, letting each coat set for 5-10min. I've driven 1000 miles over the past 3 weeks in 104 degree weather and washed the truck twice. Looks perfect so far.

I had originally planned on using some black caliper paint on it, but I had the Plasti-Dip around, which I figured would be good b/c I could rub off any overspray I might get on the wheel.

i was thinking about using the brush on plastidip so i don't have to tape things off and cover this or that..
