Alright guys. Im trying to gather parts to do a lift on my 99 4runner. I will be doing LC 8 wraps in the rear. BUT, i cant beside between OME 881 coils with spacer. or tundra coils and 5100 struts. I wont have much extra weight, nor will i be towing. it will be DD and weekend off road with 33-34s. I want the most flexy springs. I prefer more droop than up. what should i go with? OME 881 coils with spacer. or tundra coils and 5100 struts. or is there something better for around the same $$$ thanks, STE. PS. i have searched but there are way to many mixed reviews.

I have the OME 881 up front and they're a bit soft, IMO. If I had the money (or the patience to find one at a junkyard/forums), I would've gone with the Tundra springs. From my research on here, it seems like 2.5" is a good front lift. Higher than that and I noticed people have issues with their CV. I don't have the spacer with my 881, so I don't have CV issues...but I do have lots of rake, which I don't like.

If you're considering OME 881 with spacer for a full 3" lift, you may want to consider the Toytech/Eibach 3" springs. Pretty much same price, but you get 3" without the need of a spacer.

Youlll always be safe with the Tundra/5100 front lift, if you can find the coils. I know nothing about OME 881s. But in the back, you should seriously consider 7 wraps instead of 8 wraps if youre not going to be hauling weight back there. Technically there are no exact 7 wraps as they come out to 7.5 and 7.75 if you count the wraps. You can see this info in the lift FAQ thread. I had these on my truck and with no weight in the back I was lifted around 4.75 inches. It was a ton of rake, way too much for me. I wanted the 7 wraps because I was doing a lot of hauling at the time, and they were great for that. But man it was tall with no weight back there. The 8 wraps with no weight would probably put you at 5+ inches unless you get a set that have seen a ton of miles

I wouldn't worry about suspension travel. I don't know what the stock shock travel is, but the 5100s is 5" travel and that's all the IFS can handle. Your CV binds limiting down travel and up travel obviously is limited by the bump stop, which you can cut off and extend up travel but then you need to relocate the coilover.

If you want the front end to feel smoother remove the sway bar, I can't even notice a difference with the front sway bar on/off (as long as the rear is attached) and it makes it much more friendly over uneven terrain (pot holes, speed bumps, etc.). Food for thought.
