Best Tire Size for 18x9 Wheels

Greetings all

Looking at 18x9 for my TE. Im not too up to speed on ideal tire sizes. Wont be doing much of a lift as I dont really need it around here. Maybe 3in at most.

Planning on Nitto Terra Grapplers, maybe the desert grapplers, not sure. But anyway, what would be the best tire size?

Im rockin 285/65 18s Trail Grapplers with 3" of lift... i have some rubbing but it can be easily corrected.

Did you run that wheelsize before you lifted it? Also, how bad is the road noise on the trail grapplers?

I had the stock 17" TE wheels before I lifted it.

The road noise is noticeable Trail Grapplers... but its only a light high pitched hum at highway speeds. I dont notice it with the radio on and it really doesnt bother me. My MPG with them was really terrible at first... but now that Ive hit about 6500 miles on the truck, I get about 17mpg on the highway and I'm hoping it'll get even better. (Your MPGs really do get better as the truck breaks in)
