Well that does not answer my question at all lol. I was thinking about doing something different than what everyone else does. You know do my own thing instead of being just like everyone else.

20's on a 4runner whether it is trail or not is going to look pretty baller I think.

But then again I more than likely wont be off-roading, almost none at all except to pull a horse.

I bought the vehicle because it is literally the only SUV they make anymore that is comparable to a truck and I'm a Toyota lover.

I love the look of 20's on a Limited but like everything else that the Trail Package has to offer.

I liked the comment from "dawhoo" that is something that is definitely going to influence my decision.

I know that adding 20's to a Trail Vehicle is going to bring a lot of haters. But I will post pictures and my thoughts as soon as I get it done. I myself may absolutely hate it. But I may LOVE it....... I guess we will see

No worries, no hate here. I just bought my first 4Runner a couple months ago, so I don't have any experience with 17" rims on it. If you're not going off-road, I imagine you can find some tires to keep a good ride, mine doesn't ride too bad with the stock geolanders.

Congrats on the new vehicle! I just bought my first 4runner a month and a half ago and so far absolutely love it! Def a fan of the Limited also
 
Had 265 KO2s last summer, drove great, running 285's as of a couple of days ago, waiting for my lift to arrive so I can add all other accessories. Drives very well, with a small amount of rubbing in reverse when turning sharply
 
285/70r17s

Running 285/70r17s KO2s. Ride quality is great imo I dont notice any significant difference but there is a difference in sound. These do make some noise compared to stock but nothing crazy. I say go for it.
 
I've been looking for k02's in 285/70/17 with a load range C. Are they hard to find? Can't seem to find any anywhere. Just load range E

I installed some about a month ago. Doesn't ride too bad, but you'll feel the weight on takeoff & slowing down. Probably wouldn't do it again or recomend it. They don't really match the look of the vehicle either; very aggresive sidewall. Should have gotten Michelin as usual. Not bad overall, but there's better stuff out there.
I did recently increase tire pressure from 36 to 42 psi & that helped out.

Thanks Man. This is what kind of the thoughts I was having about it. But the boyfriend told me to stop being a "woman" and being indecisive lol. So I jumped and have already bought the tires and rim size....... I did go with a different tire in hopes it will ride a little better. Hankook Dynapro 275 55/r20's. We will see. I have a feeling the truck will be all tires..... may or may not love it. Still excited either way

Well.... excuse me . KM2's it is. It's been a long time since I had to buy a tire smaller than a 35". First set of tires I put on my taco was 285/75/16. Just assumed that since it was the same diameter, they would come in load range C also. New to T4R, not new to toyotas.

I have the 265s in C load rating. Probably have put about 4,000 miles on them maybe more. Being mostly a city truck...they look good, help the braking nose dive, and are good in the snow.

They are NOT good on wet pavement. If its pouring traction is good. If the rain has stopped and the pavement is just wet the traction control kicks on while starting, turning and stopping. Even driving like an old lady.

If most of your time is on pavement, I'd choose something else.

I know the off road guys will tell me, DUH! :moon:

And yes, everyone and their mom would have bought 275 or 285 ko2s in they offered them in Load Range C in a heartbeat. Cmon BFG, Nitto and Cooper can do it, why not you?
 
I just replaced old bumpy KO's on my Trail wheels with KO2's. Same size 265/70/17C and am having a hard time getting my psi correct. Started out with 38 cold that immediately jumped to 41.5 on the road. Have dropped down to an even 38 hot psi but still feels too bumpy. I am also questioning my balance. I know my left rear wheel needed a lot of weight but that same wheel needed a lot of weight with the KO's. Any advice. I have not chalk tested them to see how the footprint is on the road. More importantly is getting a comfortable feel before I chalk them.

I have had my 275/70/17 ko's for about 3k miles now on 40psi. The ride is a bit bumpy on potholes and whatnot but other then that a smooth ride. I'm probably going to bump up to 42-45 psi to give that a try based on some of the advise I've read on the forum. Overall great tire selection.

Its funny you say that because every time I lowered a couple of psi it seems that the ride is worse instead of better. Taking a long road trip soon and looking for that sweet spot. I love them so much I bought a fifth for my spare. Now looking for a 17 x 7.5 +15 offset spare wheel. That is a real booger to find too.
