I agree completely. But most people will take a few seconds to get their pistol out and on target. That's plenty of time for someone to realize what is about to happen and start moving the opposite direction. If that's the case it's time to keep your gun out until you are out of danger.

absolutely. don't want to shoot anyone in the back. and i don't want the first shot going into the door, or the ground. i want it on target.
just clear on the part about the decision to draw defensively. if it comes to it, and the muzzle is on target, and the target is still facing me....yeah.
Not sure if it has already been posted...but on ABC news last night, there was evidence (witness and smashed passenger side window) that they went after his wife as well (the SUV driver).

Was just about to post the same thing. I've always told myself there would be no delay (and trained myself to draw, aim, pull in a pretty short sequence) and hope that to be the case in the heat of the moment. If they have a chance to retreat my aim must be bad.
I have shot probably close to a million rounds through one of those mounted to a helicopter. They are some sweet sweet guns!

it is sad, though, that most, or all, of the pieces of shit involved in this will serve no time in jail. i'm sure they are all victims of some societal failure that's "our" fault.

You'll be wastiing your money. I had one for my Tahoe, but it wiuldn't fit in the 4Runner. A well mounted M60 is the better choice for a smalled SUV.
Thank God for HR218. Every time I go into NYC I bring Mr. Walther with me. My wife wondered why...until we go on the subway.
