Bilstein 5100 - .85 Pic`s

[MENTION=51725]mybabydaddy[/MENTION] I think I'm going to go in that direction as well. I'll probably order the 1" cornfed spacers and level it out that way. I don't want to look like a monster truck but I'd like a more aggressive stance. I'm going to set them at 1.75" front (with stock coils) and use the 1" spacer in the rear (with stock coils). Maybe down the line I'll upgrade th coils and delete the spacers but for now on a budgetary standpoint this is what I'm working with.

Eventually I would like to put on a set of SCS rims and either Grabber AT2's in 265 with wheel spacers or KO2's in 275.

Man I think i have been swayed to the 1.75" setting also. The only thing I can't decide is whether to get cornfed 1" for the rear or stack two 10mm OME spacers (~.80").

It seems like people are getting roughly 1.25" rear lift when using the 1" spacer, so only raising the front ~.5" more then the rear... I was hoping for at least .75 more then the rear lift.

On the other hand I will occasionally pull a 12' trailer with a 4wheeler or rzr on it.... man decisions decisions

Seriously?! I thought the consensus is that it would give a level ride? Or am I just too tired right now and am thinking of the 1.75" mark?

I think it would look pretty funny at 2.5" and saw coils with stock tires... No $$$ for tires right now. My plan was to set it at .85 or 1.75, then step it up to 2.5" and saw coils when I can get tires.


It will be a month or so before I have time to mess with it anyways, so maybe something will change and I can go ahead and do the 2.5, saw coils, and tires.

I would wait and do it all at once unless you can do the install yourself

I ran 2.5 w/1.5 daystars and it was a tad nose high looking at times.... dead level on the tape. I run SAWs now and I have about a .5" rake which looks great IMO

I think I'm gonna put it at 1.75" with the 1" rear spacer. I'm going to leave all the coils stock. Gotta look into what I have to do to fit 285's in there. Not interested in doing a body mod chop.

you can fit 285s on stock suspension.... ask yourself, "Do I need 285s or do I just want them"?

I am running 2.4/1.5 on 275s. Looks great and takes me anywhere I want to go.

The only reason I'd go to 285's is because I really like the General Grabber AT2's and they only come in 265 & 285 for 17" rims. And if I'm gonna lift it up, I don't want 265's.

I did not want to hi-jack the other thread, so here are some pictures of what the .85 setting looks like with no lift in the rear, the tires are 275-70-17 Destination`s. I had a hard time finding some good comparison pic`s of before and after with this set up, so I figured this may help someone else down the road.

It`s not a huge difference, but it was exactly what I wanted, it still has some front rake to it, but it looks a lot better than stock. I do not think it`s going to be huge difference in handling either, but I have already noticed less nose dive during braking. I think the 1.75 setting may actually level the truck, but I was not looking to do that, due to towing a camper.

My next item`s will be a Defiant light bar and a set of PIAA lights and then I am done. I may go with a more aggressive tire when the Destinations wear out.

Looks clean, I opted for the same setup and removed my stepsides.

One of my turn signals went out on me, and while I was under the truck, I noticed the PO added Bilsteins to the front. I always like the stance.

Glad I stumbled into this thread... Couple new developments with my business have severely cut my lift/wheels/tires budget. Was contemplating the Bilstein route as a bandaid until next year, the pics have me convinced. Think the Bilsteins all around with SAW coils with some 285 KO2s on the stock Trail rims keeps me in budget.

Stinks because a couple weeks ago the budget was Boss lift, TC ucas, Method wheels...ugh! The joys of owning your own business :ybrick:
