Bilstein 5100 - .85 Pic`s

Here's my 2010 SR5.
Front is at .85, rear suspension is completely stock. Tires are stock-sized KO2s.

Here are some of my minor issues:
1. I noticed an issue with visibility. Specifically, my 5'3" wife noticed it. It is harder to see what is directly to the front-right of the vehicle, such as when pulling into driveways or parking.
2. When loaded, now the rear end looks like it sags more, so I need to improve that.
3. Wheel rub during tight turning, but I think that is mostly due to my spacers.

regarding your #2, when we installed Haydenatx 5100's at 0.85 we did a quick drive around the block with the fronts installed and noticed that slight saggy appearance even just accelerating from stop unloaded. when we installed the rear shocks we mounted a 10mm OME spacer (trim packer) on the each of the stock coils. raised the rear about 1/2". check out his thread, he has pics with and without gear in the rear for an idea of what it looks like:

I have a question for everyone running the 5100's at .85, does the diff and stock skid plate need to be dropped? Does the sway bar need to be relocated?

I have a secondary question for the guys running the falken at3w tires, what PSI have you been running them at?

No man, am running the 5100 at 2.5 lift, the ride is a little harsh but I the angle of the axles still pretty good, the word around here is more that 3" of lift is when you need to worry about axle angle, for the psi 38 should be good, you can email Falken and ask them.

2014 TPE w/ 5100's all around, .85 front setting

I love the ride with these, feels a lot more stable and it did get rid of some of the front end dive when braking. It has KDSS as well. No other mods done, tires are 275/70-17 KO2's and I only get a little rub at full lock on a hard bump. I also did the roof rack delete to help get the snow off this winter, shoulder surgery coming up in 3 days! Hard to do one handed... Here's pics of stock, then tires, then 5100's and the roof rack delete

I wanted to post up my alignment info - I know all trucks are different but this will give you an idea how even the .85 lift changes everything

Sorry Toyota could not give me a color copy today but most know how to read these.

so I've read through the entire 10 pages of this thread and have a few questions now. hoping a few members here have this setup or can help me decide. Im looking for more of a "wheel well" level, I'd like to get the front end up and decrease nose dive during braking. I'm leaning towards a possible .85 front lift, 0 rear. I don't want spacers or negative rake. I won't be towing much but will have occasional cargo in the back, kids mainly. I also have the 3rd row option. A slight stock rake is ok bc kids and cargo will be riding also.

looking on the toytec website, I'm deciding on two kits:
1) the "ultimate" complete adjustable 1"-3" lift, bilsteins x4 - coilovers up front, approx $1300 or
2)bilsteins 5100s x4, adjustable front 1"-2.5" approx $400

any ideas from you guys which would be the better option for my ride that will give me the "wheel well" level Im looking for? I won't be doing too much off-road, mainly trips to the snow for ski trips with the fam. any help is appreciated, Im digging all the pics that have been posted. thanks in advance.

set up

I’ve done quite a bit of research on all of this, and followed many of the same steps codyHTX has done. If all you want to do is level out the truck a little and slap on 275’s, then I would suggest 5100s with the fronts at .85 and call it a day until you are ready to redo the suspension. IF, you want a little more lift/meaner look, then you can go the same route as codyHTX and I both did, which is 5100s with front set at 1.75 and then add a 1 inch spacer to the rear suspension (and slap your new tires on there). The ride (mostly in the rear) suffers a bit from the spacers, but not horrifically bad, and you still have a bit of rake for loads, etc. At some point, I believe codyHTX and I will both revisit the suspension and replace the springs, etc. But the current set-up accomplished what we were looking for at a relatively inexpensive route. I’m still running stock-sized tires on Trail Ed rims (only NITTOs instead), but because of the spidertraxx spacers, they look pretty good all in all.

Search for some of my posts/replies... I have pics of my truck with 1.75 setting up front and no rear lift... and then 1.75 setting with 1 inch spacer lift. You should be able to see the difference even tho my pics are crappy iPhone images.

Just wondering how the ride is with the 1" rear spacer? Is it much stiffer or about the same as stock? Do you have 5100s on all 4 or just the front?

I have 5100s on all 4, plus the 1 inch rear spacer. It’s quite a bit stiffer than stock form. Stock is pretty “cushy”... ALMOST, not 100%, but ALMOST even a bit too cushy. But it depends on what you use the truck for, and your personal tastes. I’m 98% on-road right now, so I don’t mind the stiffness. Having said that, I’m on the record (in here) for saying it’s borderline too stiff. I’d prefer to take the pre-loading out of both front and rear, and just lift via springs instead. I may go that route in the next 6 to 12 months... but we’ll see.

I just installed my rear 5100s without spacer - fronts set at .85 - ride change is minimal but i have noticed a little bit more rake with the change - I'm sure there will be some settling after a few days -
