Brand new 06 - Freeway Steering Wheel Problem

Thanks for the links! Actually I tried to do the sliding yoke adjustment but when I unscrewed yoke bolts I couldn’t move lover shaft even half of millimeter. I may try it in the spring when the weather gets warmer again. Is there a trick to to do the adjustment?

I just joined the Club and Alignment Problem or etc with the purchase of a 07 SR5 with 43 K last Friday. I went back this Thursday. The salesman and service Tech drove the SUV and felt it was OK. The alignment machine showed it off too little to be detected and I d/n see a difference after the adjustment. I'm honing in on the term tightness, which better describes the problem in my opinion. It’s not a free movement vs slack to keep it aligned on the freeway .

Thanks for the reply! I wonder if it’s a matter of me getting use to s slightly larger SUV and larger tires. I dove my 1993 Ford Explorer 15 years with 15” tires that tracked very good. Before then, I drove 2 Jeep Wagoneers (72 & 80) 20 years with 15” tires ? and they tracked good. The T4R frame appears much stronger with more steel but the body could be lighter with less steel. I do know it feels larger/heavier but the specs are close to my past SUV’s (due to fitting in the garage vs 2010/2011 too tight for the old garage. jow
