My name is Hembley and I'm from Brazil.

I arrive at this forum through Google.

I speak a little bit English, but sometimes I need Google Translate to help me.

I'd like to presenting my car.

I read so much here about others cars and learn so much at this point.

Here in Brazil ours 4Runner are named as SW4. My car is diesel, 1997, 3rd, so much different of yours that ones are gasoline. But almost all pieces are the same!

So, I'll describe everything that equip my car:

- Tires - BF Goodrich Mud Terrain 33"X 12,5 X 15
- Body Lift 3'' + Suspension Lift 2"
- ARB Locker RD 90 and RD 132 (200% full locked)
- Suspension is original
- Warn Winch 9.5 XP with Smittybilt Synthetic Winch Rope (12000lbs)
- Bumper - DIY
- 2 Hella 1000
- Optima battery

Everyday I want upgrade anymore. This is very cool! So here in Brazil everything to equip this car is so much expensive!

Therefore always look for alternatives here, but we have many! Indeed, it was looking for alternatives that I got on the forum.

Good! Lets talk about my car:

I do not know if there you often use big tires on this car. Here in Brazil, almost everybody that have this car don't use because the steering box broken!

At this point I need help with experts of this forum to knows how do you do with this steering box there? Here in Brazil we are thinking to adapt from F350, but I dont know how I can do this!

Anybody can help me? I would be very grateful!

I have yet so much doubts, so I'll wait answer one at time to do not confuse.

Ela tem pneus grandes? Você sabe como resolvem aí o problema da caixa de direção? Penso que por conta do país de vocês ter mais tecnologia, deve ter algum fabricante que desenvolveu algo melhor que a original!

At that point most people would just install a solid front axle. I heard of a company called Safari LTD that sells an upgraded steering rack. This may be a good option for you.

Not really sure. I only spend a few weeks a year in Brazil so I don't get to wrench on that one. My ex- has custody but I do have visitation rights (I get to drive it when I'm there.)

It might not be a Toyota engine, but something they source in Argentina. The ex- also has a DoubleCab HiLux produced with a Mercedes Argentina Diesel engine.

Here in Brazil we tried to use tires up to 33", sometimes 37" ou 40", but the steering box broken! I'll confirm with Safari LTD if that product withstands!

37" or 40" tires are pushing the very limits of the independent front suspension in my opinion. The highest I would go is 35" before I cut out the IFS and install a solid axle.

When I was there, I bought some things in 4Wheelparts.

This second hand parts that you said are used or new?

I'm planing to buy some things there in States, like this:

I am not the best guy to ask. I really don't have much experience outside of people I know. There are multiple people on here running 33's and above. I am still running stock.

How much is that Snorkel? Do they ship to the US?
