Looks good Brian. I'm curious if you sealed the gap inbetween the projector and the reflector bucket with JB weld or silicon? I see the aluminum tape covering that area. I thought it's supposed to be air/ water tight and I assume the aluminum tape by itsself isn't?

Also looking forward to the clear corner project. Are you leaving the lens for the corners clear and just painting the reflector part of the housing?

I lit up my FX-R's the other day to test their output and I gotta admit I giggled like a little girl when I saw the cutoff against my garage door! I got some work to do!

don't sale your self short mate, great pics with alot of time and effort into making this thread, you guys are way better for the forum than guys like me, when i'm working on a project i just want to get done with it and am to wrapped up in completing it that i don't take the time to take pics and much less compile them all into one spot with good descriptions, it's funny in the time that i have been here that the threads i go to for information has changed , at first it was guys like millerpka and the rest, more and more i find my self referring to threads that are much more recent, between you BFAD and a few others , you guys have really flushed this forum out, keep up the good work, this is an nice clean install and i've been keeping an eye out for when i go to do this.... i really like the murder death kill sticker on the back of the ballast, that's pretty funny! Anyways i'm a fan, keep it up! :driving:

It currently has only the aluminum foil tape + the rubber gasket for sealant in the back. I think the tape is good enough for now, especially since the rubber gasket covers it up the tape very well. I won't be doing any snorkling with my truck so I"m not worried.

It does not need to be 100% sealed, in fact there are breathing tubes you aren't supposed to cover up. You have to let it breath a bit so that when you change altitude to say 8000 - 9000 ft (Tahoe) it won't have any issues with the pressure.

Bi-xenon means you get hi/lo function. Essentially it is a shroud attached to a small motor. When you turn on the hi-beam, the motor moves the shroud out of the way and you get full hi-beam.

Looks awesome Brian. You got me jealous with the 3" FX-R and OEM bulbs. I'm bummed I sold mine, but it wasn't the right time. I'll be using your walk through when I get another kit. Any night shots?

Brian, very clean retro. Painting the inside of the housings looks great on a black vehicle.

What kind of lenses are you running? The FX lenses are quite hazy...thus I switched mine out for a pair of Acura TSX lenses. Wow, what a difference that made. I've got comparison shots of both lenses in my old write up: Another HID Bi-xenon Retrofit Install *PICS* - YotaTech Forums.

BTW, I did my FX retro 4+ years ago...everything is still holding up great. Can't go wrong w/ FX projectors! Keep up the good work.
